arisha: (al/jas otp!!!1!)
So I haven't posted in two weeks which is kind of funny because for once things have actually been happening around here! xD On Thursday the second, I went to the very last showing of PotC3 at the theatre where I work (and enjoyed it ridiculously), and I was going to write a huge big long ridiculous entry about that but then I was distracted by the fact that my brother's girlfriend had been in a car accident while I was gone!! haha wow!! She's okay, obviously, otherwise the tone in which I tell this news would be rather more somber. ^^; Then I guess nothing much happened for a while ... a little old lady told me she thinks the Harry Potter series are simply wonderful, we got a new computer which I am still kind of hating on, we watched Memento in my film class and I thought it was totally awesome, [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I watched three Disney movies in one afternoon and then we did the same thing a couple days later (and I was going to write a big long entry about The Lion King but got lazy), I went to Calgary for four days and hung out with my family and betaraider (haha betaraider asked me if I am still in Disneyland withdrawal hahaha well yes I am and it hurts!), [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I watched two Disney movies in one afternoon (and I am such a Hercules fangirl right now, oh man that movie), my dad joined Facebook just out of pure curiosity ... and I guess that about sums it up, really. xD I'm going to hate myself in the future for skipping over all the details of all of this but at the moment I don't really feel like writing a huge long entry about all of this and you guys probably don't feel like reading it, so that's just too bad for my future self. xD;;;;

I realized today that as I grow older, the reading level of the books I own seems to grow younger. Having run out of PotC artbooks to buy, today I bought two PotC books that I'm pretty sure were intended for grade schoolers. xD;; One of these is The Pirate's Code Guidelines by one Joshamee Gibbs! xD;;;; The idea behind this book is total hilarity to me - Mr. Gibbs wrote a book on the Code, then years later went back through his copy and filled the margins with handwritten notes, then years later this copy was discovered on the wreckage of the Titanic! Oh Disney, you never fail to amuse. xDDD PotC3 spoilers )

hahaha ANYWAY what I was going to say there was that I hope the fact that I finally ordered myself a copy of Ovid's Metamorphoses will make up for my growing collection of books that are really way too young for me. XD

I am feeling very obsessed with my novel today. o_o I am sorta kinda in the process of rewriting one of the very first arcs I wrote for it, which is fun and interesting but at the same time kind of frustrating, because a lot of what I had before is now in total conflict with the rules of the world, and I have to fix all of that. Well, oh well, I do enjoy it, and I do like going back and making scenes better. :)

And this icon totally makes me laugh. XD; My favourite thing about Al and Jas is my theory that nobody else would be able to stand being with either of them. XD Al is always all "zomg I suck!!1!" and Jas has that irrational anger thing ... I mean, who would put up with all of that but each other? XD That is why they are OTP!!11!#!#!1hahaha I am so amused~ xD

PS: This is entry #999! hahaha wow, I can't believe the internets have put up with me for that long! XD
arisha: (potc3 trade)
This entry is sort of a continuation of my piratey entry from yesterday, but first I guess I should talk about other things so you guys don't think that PotC is the only thing I think about, even though it is. :D

So yesterday I had my first training shift at my new movie theatre job. It wasn't terribly exciting but I enjoyed it for what it was, and I'm actually really glad to begin with these two classroom training shifts. For the first while we read from the employee manuals (and made nametags and ate candy), and then we went on a tour which I thought was paced just right. :) Much better than my toy store tour, haha; that one consisted of quickly walking a loop through the store while the girl who was training me called out things like, "That's baby. That's girls'. That's outdoors." It was not detailed enough to be helpful. :/ (I feel bad writing things like this because [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron is continuing to work there ... but I think she's man enough to take it, right?) This tour was more detailed and more exciting! XD We went to the break room (where, wonder of wonders, the furniture is not falling apart!), the office, the ROOM OF CANDY haha awesome, the projection rooms (you climb up the stairs to one and then to get to the other you have to walk through this little level that's high above the lobby - I never even knew this existed but it was really cool!!) where I got to watch a bit of soundless Shrek the Third, and then for no apparent reason we went up onto the roof, hahaha. My brother and his girlfriend were very jealous when I told them this because in their years of working at the theatre, they've apparently never been on the roof. XD Pwned!!

The schedule is posted on a bulletin board in the break room; it's a bunch of standard pieces of paper tacked together in columns. In the quick glance I had at it, I could tell there were quite a lot of names, but you guys know I am not so good with the mathematics, so today I asked my brother how many people work at the theatre and he said from sixty to eighty. HOLY MAN!!! That's a lot of people! At my fast food job we usually had eight employees; at the toy store it's more than that but still less than sixty! I can't even believe this! haha. One day I shall have to count the number of people on the schedule, just to verify. Oh man, I hope this doesn't mean I'm constantly working with strangers. It probably won't, but still, my goodness. ^^;

And another thing about the training is that I'm pretty sure I was the oldest one there. :X Everyone else being trained seemed to be in high school, and there were two of them who gave off the impression that this was their first job. I'm sure they're both very nice people, but their lack of any sort of professionalism bothered me a lot more than I would have expected it to. One girl kept boasting about the number of employees she's already friends with (I think that's the only reason she wants this job), and then she answered her cell phone while the trainer was talking. !!! Another girl said absolutely nothing until the idea of free movies was brought up. Then she was burying the trainer in questions about how we can get free movies and how many we can get and when we can get them and how many friends we can bring and if this is all applicable to such-and-such a movie and OH MAN. At least pretend you're here for more than the free movies! Geeze! :P

In other news, my latest J-pop order came today, a very speedy delivery from Amazon.co.jp. :D Duo U&U, W's first album, was one of my purchases, and I felt kind of bad ordering it now that W is dead. ^^; But it was totally worth it. This album is a cover of older J-pop songs and it totally exceeded my expectations. :) I've only listened to it once so far, so the songs are all kind of blended together in my head, but still, I really liked them. XD I also got GAM's first album, Amai Yuuwaku, which I sort of skipped through. It seems rather better than Sexy 8 Beat, MoMusu's 2007 album, though. And yay for "LU LU LU." XD I also got a concert DVD, Hello! Pro Party Goto Maki Captain Kouen. I've read a bunch of forum posts saying that one should download this concert instead of buying it, but what I've watched of it so far looked pretty good to me. And this concert's performance of "Daite yo! Please Go On" is one of my favourite H!P performances ever, so even if the rest of it is terrible I still won't mind too much. ;)

The only non-H!P item in this order is one that everyone is going to make fun of me for. XD The Japanese DVD of the first PotC movie, woohoo!! XD I've only watched a wee little bit of the film in Japanese dub; I shall have to be patient and not watch any more until [livejournal.com profile] athena_crikey can watch it with me. I expect to understand an unusual amount simply because I have seen the movie in English way too many times. XD

And that's about all I wanted to say about that stuff, so now I guess we can move onto the goods ... XD

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS )

And I guess that's all for now, because I have to get up early tomorrow to work my last shift at the toy store. :) I just now changed the ticker on my LJ profile from a PotC3 countdown to a OotP countdown ... Makes me sad! :( I mean, I am looking forward to July's Harry Potter goodness, but not with half as much excitement as I was looking forward to PotC3. :/ Sigh.
arisha: (kanashimi twilight 意味がない)
Last summer I watched the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, and believed it to be the most HEARTWRENCHING but simultaneously AWESOME thing I would ever see. Well, I was wrong. PotC3 took the combination of HEARTWRENCHING and AWESOME and kicked it up about six thousand notches.

SEVERE SPOILERS, I AM NOT KIDDING )

MAN, Pirates is AWESOME!!!!! XD

Oh, and unrelated: the Enchanted trailer was played before the movie, and it actually looks more amusing than I have been giving it credit for (although I'm a bit bitter that they played clips of everyone's favourite Disney animation classics and then were like LOOK WHAT WE HAVE NOW, when the animation quality of Enchanted appears to be rather below that of, say, The Lion King), but it made me think of a Maclean's article I recently read that was discussing the popularity of the Shrek films. I definitely didn't agree with everything this article said (mainly because it was like, "ALL TEENAGERS HATE DISNEY AND THINK ITS ANIMATION IS UGLY" - wait, what??), but one thing it said was that one of the reasons Shrek is popular is that it pokes fun at Disney where Disney cannot poke fun at itself. But Enchanted looks like it has its moments of poking fun at Disney. It will be interesting to see how it actually turns out.

This entry stolen from [livejournal.com profile] natz099, although I think she cheated less than I did. XD

I <3 YouTube. It is only through YouTube that tonight I may present to you two PotC2 scenes dubbed in Japanese: "Curiosity" and Elizabeth kisses Jack. Oh man, it is at times like this that I wish I hadn't watched the movie so much. I watch these and feel like I understand everything they say but do I really? Or do I just think that I do because I have the scenes practically memorized anyway?

And now of course I want to buy the Japanese DVD so I can watch the whole thing in Japanese dub. Because that would be the BEST THING EVER. But when I told [livejournal.com profile] leaf_green that I own PoA in Japanese dub, she made fun of me! :( So if I do buy it I shall have to keep it a secret. XD

Other fun YouTube finds tonight include:
- Disney Time: a clip of former MoMusu member Tsuji Nozomi and three other celebrities (I assume??) in the Little Mermaid area of Tokyo Disney Sea. In the middle they meet Ariel and it is the most adorable thing. I knew that Westerners are often hired to play characters in the Tokyo Disney parks, just because of their looks I guess, but this Ariel doesn't even speak to them in Japanese, which I found surprising! Man, I feel like I could do an entire Master's on Tokyo Disneyland and how it relates to both Japanese and Western culture ... Right now I feel like I have all these questions about it and there is no resource to answer them for me. :(

- Remember those Mentos commercials with the ridiculous problems, equally ridiculous solutions, and fantastic cheesiness? Here is the Aladdin version of those Mentos commercials. And I know I've got quite a strong bias here, but this is pretty well the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.

- Whose Line is it Anyway? - Greatest Hits: Sci-Fi, because I can no longer link YouTube videos without linking a Whose Line clip. XD Greatest Hits was always one of my favourite games, and this one has the added bonus of Colin and his talented dancing. XD XD XD XD

- Okay, I didn't find this one tonight, but I've been meaning to share it because it kind of blows my mind. Morning Musume's "As For One Day" mixed with Limp Bizkit's "Take a Look Around." I don't think the chorus is the best match, but the rest of it is so awesome. <3 There's also Morning Musume's "Shabondama" mixed with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - I don't think that one works quite as well, but c'mon, isn't just the very idea of it absolutely fantastic? XD
arisha: (reina ai eri last kiss)
My brother took me to see Meet the Robinsons tonight and it was the best. :D I'll definitely write more about that tomorrow (last day of school~~!!), but you know I can barely survive if I don't write a post, haha, so here is a snippet of our conversation during the drive to the theatre. XD

Sarah: "Some guy I've only talked to once* added me on Facebook."
Brother: "Yeah, I hate that. Some people think Facebook is like Pokémon; you gotta catch 'em all."

And then later, as the previews were rolling (no PotC3 what the heck), he admitted to sometimes imagining how terribly awesome a live action Pokémon movie would be. XD XD XD XD Oh man, now they HAVE to make that!! I mean, they did live action Sailormoon, right? Pokémon is practically the next step!! XD XD Hahaha, sometimes I wonder what a live action Escaflowne would look like. Really I only even thought of the idea because of the trailer for X-Men 3, when that dude with the wings** came on and I was like "ZOMG IT'S VAN!!" and then was severely disappointed. But I don't even know. All this time and I still find it impossible to even imagine a live action Escaflowne. I have no idea where you would start ... (But if someone ever made it I would so totally watch it.)

Disney Princess stuff XD; )

THIS ENTRY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SHORT ONE WHAT IS GOING ON XD

Oh, and new icons, yay! XD;

* I actually have no issue with this guy adding me, especially as I wrote on his wall and only hours later he wrote back, and his comment was longer than mine which never ever happens, you may have noticed. XD But I'm a little miffed that one of my elementary school classmates added me and has yet to reply to the message I sent him. I CAN TELL YOU'VE BEEN ONLINE, YOU PUNK, I CAN SEE YOUR UPDATES!!! :P

** I know his name but I like to say things like this just to bother people. :D Star Wars is easiest because people always talk about it. "What??" I ask, shocked. "Obi-Wan dies???" And then people get all angsty about it, oh gosh, it amuses me so. XD
arisha: (at world's end)
Oh man, I avoided doing anything with my Mixi account for the longest time because I didn't really understand how to do anything on the site, but now that I've started sending messages and stuff, oh my gosh. These people are so crazy nice. I feel like I should be more cynical and look at it more like "They're only nice because they want you to help them with their English!" but shut up you guys!! It's lovely to receive such polite and cheerful e-mails from practically total strangers, haha. *^_^*

THIS IS NOT WHAT THIS ENTRY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT. As you may already know, I spent all day in anticipation of wobbly-legged, rum-soaked PIRATES! )
arisha: (Default)
Now for the pirate's lair! Oh joy unbounded! Oh sweet relief! Oh rapture unexampled! What I am trying to say is that they found my luggage! It should be in my grubby little hands by this time tomorrow! Such happiness can only be communicated through the stealing of Gilbert and Sullivan lyrics!

And tonight I am going to go to the clinic to get my ear fixed, because it popped or something during yesterday's second flight and now refuses to stop bothering me. ;_;

(I told my brother that during one showing of the Aladdin musical in Disney's California Adventure, Genie sang his own version of "My Humps." Said my brother, "I don't think that's what they should be teaching at Disneyland." Hahahahahaaaaaa, man, I know. XD There were also references to Gwen Stefani, Britney and sometimes K-Fed, the Pussycat Dolls, Austin Powers ... XD XD XD XD XD XD XD )

(I am seriously going to go into withdrawal from just that musical alone. XD;;;; )
arisha: (aladdin king of thieves)
Man, my brother has been totally nice to me today. It makes me not want to leave, hahaha. XD His semester has switched over and so I've been helping him with his Spanish homework the past couple of days. I'm glad to see I can still do it! :) I took two third-year Spanish lit. classes last year (which means I've read part of Don Quixote in the original, this is my only accomplishment in life hehe), but I haven't taken any this year. I do quite like Spanish, it's just that when I let UVic know I got a 4 on the AP exam, it messed everything up ... But this helping my brother with his homework makes me want to read my Harry Potter y el Prisionero de Azkaban again, hehehe. XD Gosh, HP in Spanish is so much better than in the original, I can't even explain it. I think it's just because it makes it seem more exotic, but not enough that I can no longer understand it. And I like the deeper voices of the Spanish dub. <3 And it just really fascinated me the first time I watched it in Spanish dub, which is probably also part of it, haha. Haha, man, now I really want to watch PoA in Spanish again, but I can't, I should really go to bed soon, hehehe. XD;

When I was in middle school, one of my friends told me I talk about my brother an awful amount. Haha, do I? I don't feel like I do ... XD;;;

He keeps getting "muy" and "mucho" confused, like a lot of Spanish learners seem to do. Which is something I've never really understood, it's not like "por" and "para" where they translate into the same English word ... but okay, haha.

I feel like I should make this a fantastic entry because it's my last before Disneyland. ^^; But as you can see it's not going so well! XD So I am going to leave you with some unfinished rambling about Escaflowne AMVs. XD I wrote this in the wee hours of Christmas morning but apparently after the holiday I completely forgot about it, only to rediscover it today when I was pretending to write my kyogen essay. XD And I never even wrote about the "Because of You" video I was going to write about! hahaha. XD

My pendant is a perpetual motion machine! )

And with that, I shall see you all next Sunday! Have an awesome week! XD XD XD XD
arisha: (Default)
Last night I watched both Toy Story movies, and in the second one, when Al is on the phone with the Japanese businessman, he finishes the call by saying, "Don't touch my moustache!"

I NEVER GOT THAT JOKE BEFORE. And I remember asking my mom why he said that and she didn't know either. But last night I watched that scene and I was like, oh man, I can't believe they put that in, how many people even get that joke I wonder ... XD XD XD XD XD;;;

'Toy Story' cont'd and also 'A Goofy Movie.' )
arisha: (aladdin)
If there is one thing about Aladdin that I think is the best thing ever, it's that it never ends. XD XD;; Aladdin! Return of Jafar! Series! King of Thieves! They said that would be the end but they lied! Hercules and the Arabian Night! Great Minds Think For Themselves! House of Mouse! And just in case you thought things were settling down, here, try some Disney Princess Enchanted Tales.

'Put your faith in what you most believe in'? lol, Tarzan, you're practically a Disney Princess! )

05. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I've done this before, but it was almost two years ago. I would link to the post they were in but they're kind of embarrassing and I even locked the post because of it. XD; Admittedly I prefer today's questions, which were asked by [livejournal.com profile] shadoweddestiny. :D

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] shadoweddestiny: Everyone play along — mp3 player, random play, first 15 tracks, embarrassment be damned!
There isn't even as much H!P on this list as I thought there'd be! )

My first class today was cancelled and since that meant I didn't have to go in till 4:30, I of course had a spectacularly productive day planned. Unfortunately, my Year of a Million Dreams DVD came this morning, so. Haha, yes, you heard right, I now have two Disneyland planning DVDs from two consecutive years. But it is only because my parents love me so much! Haha. My mom ordered the 50th Anniversary one for me in secret, and my dad was in the process of ordering this latest one when I arrived home from school one day. XD

Seventeen days! )

I love this icon of Aurora making a heart with her hands. In the same batch there is one of her giving the peace sign and winking!! Oh Aurora, I always knew you were a J-pop idol at heart. XD Now I want to go to Disneyland and ask all the characters to do J-pop poses for my pictures, hahaha. You're embarrassed, just think how [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron will feel! XD XD XD;;;
arisha: (Default)
I did warn you that I was going to be a complete Disney fangirl for the next month, right? )

This entry makes it seem like I really do not have a life but in fact I had quite a life today! Or more than I usually do on any given day, anyway. I went to my first baby shower and I spent a couple hours writing and I listened to music I had never heard before in a genre that I don't usually listen to. And I hung out with my brother and he was nice to me!!! And I even cleaned my room a wee little bit. It's just that then I started going through another one of my tapes and that became all I felt like writing about ... XD XD XD XD;;;;;

Hahahahaha, oh my goodness. If you haven't guessed it yet, I AM FIVE YEARS OLD. XD

And! If you have ever wished there was a likeness of you pirating it up in Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean, then this is the contest for you! (Actually, I think it would be just as awesome to win the pinball machine. My mom had a bizarre catalogue that had that in it for a mere $400! I tried to convince betaraider to buy me one but I don't think I was very successful.) I like how one thousand people will win fourth prize but only fifty people will win fifth prize. Doesn't that seem backwards ... ?
arisha: (Default)
Let's start this post off with the dorkiest thing ever. For the past two months or so, I have had an analogue clock in my room, and this is a really new thing for me because I have never had one before and it is loud! It's a Disney Princess clock featuring Cinderella that my dad brought me back from Germany. XD; (Hahahaha, I am the easiest person to shop for ever. XD ) Anyway, today I watched a couple Escaflowne episodes in my room using my new hardcore region-free portable DVD player. And at the end of episode twenty-three, when Hitomi is back on Earth and the clock is ticking? It was ticking exactly the opposite of my Cinderella clock. Tick! from Escaflowne, then tick! from Cinderella. Is it ridiculous how hilarious I think this is? XD XD I was like, "I should watch it again!" but I did not have any faith in my ability to reproduce the effect. XD XD XD XD

And now for a dream post, because you love dream posts, I know you do. XD Last night I had a dream that my mother told me that my brother and his girlfriend were going to have a baby, and then like the next day the baby was born. XD And it was a girl! And my brother came to visit us and he was walking up the driveway carrying the baby and I ran up to him and asked if I could hold her and he said, "NO!" And he absolutely would not allow me to baby-sit her. Oooooooh man, if that happens in real life I will be CRUSHED. I am depending on my brother to produce adorable offspring so that I may be their doting aunt. XD

And I also had a dream that I was sitting in the movie theatre watching PotC3 for the first time, and I was so completely enjoying it (all I can remember of it now though is that Will was on a red ship? talking tensely with an enemy? haha or something?), except then I thought to myself, "What am I doing watching this for the first time in the afternoon? I TOTALLY MISSED MY CHANCE TO SEE THIS MOVIE AT MIDNIGHT" and I totally hated myself. And so of course I woke up and now cannot believe I still have to wait until May to see PotC3. ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_; ;_;

Writing that paragraph reminded me of the dream I had a couple nights ago where [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and my plane tickets to Anaheim were for a Friday morning, but I believed they were for Friday evening, and so I went to school as usual, and then I realized that we had missed our flight, and it was the worst thing ever. Really funny when I woke up, though. Except I shouldn't have told my mom I dreamt that, now she's all worried all over again. ^^;;;

One last thing! I am continuing in my quest to label all my unlabelled tapes, and I came onto the computer to inform [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron of the Jungle Cruise joke that they snuck into the Aladdin episode "Rain of Terror" (says Genie, "And now for the most dangerous part of our journey: the drive home" lawl), and I decided to check the MoMusu forums while I was here, and zomg their upcoming single has finally been on the radio and it is excellent. XD Mostly I am just so thrilled that it's not another "Aruiteru," because I kind of think that's my least favourite MoMusu single ever. But I love it! It is nice and funky in an old school MoMusu sort of way, and of course it has a ridiculous title, so I'm happy. XD (Although personally I think Reina should have more lines, hahahaha well fine. XD ) I really want to pre-order this but all my money is going towards Vancouver next weekend and Disneyland in February ... so I shall have to pre-order it with something that doesn't come out until, like, April, so it'll be charged when I have a job again. XD;;; Hahaha, I wonder if this is a good plan or a terrible plan. XD;;; Man, though, this is awesome, and what's even better is that I like it twenty times more every time I listen to it. <3333333 XD XD XD And a new album soon, too! Man, I can't believe it's been almost a year since Rainbow 7 was released ... I still feel like I only just got it! XD;; That might be the CD I take with me to Anaheim. Really I'm only taking my CD player to help me get through the flights with minimum airsickness. So far I've only used Rainbow 7 and Maki Goto's best album for this purpose, but for whatever reason I found Rainbow 7 worked so much better. I guess just because I knew it better so it was easier to focus on it? Or something? I don't know how it worked, I just know that it did. :P
arisha: (Default)
I feel like I have an obligation to update this thing. I think this is because I was going to write a very extensive birthday entry and then I didn't, but I'm still left feeling like "wasn't I supposed to write something ... ?" hahaha. But if I were to write an actual entry now, it would probably be all about how I have spent the past day sorting through my video tapes (and enjoying it immensely, as so far I have found these tapes to be filled with Full House, Aladdin, Hercules, and commercials for Microsoap, my favourite of the shows I'll probably never get a chance to watch again). (Actually, the tape I was watching this morning amused me immensely, because it's like a collection of the best, most hilarious Hercules episodes ... and then the most boring, average Aladdin episodes. All nicely alternating. Oh, I am exaggerating a bit, because I don't like "Hercules and the Jilt Trip" and "Power to the Parrot" is not all that bad and the only really hilarious part of "Hercules and the Aetolian Amphora" is the beginning where you see Meg but they leave you in ridiculous suspense for like ten minutes. But still. Amusing.) (Also, "As the Netherworld Turns" seemed to have pieces very purposefully cut out of it, and "Vocal Hero" starts in the middle. Ahahaha, middle school Sarah knew quite well how to use a VCR, too, so I'm not sure what happened there. XD; )

Ahaha, I didn't mean to write all that stuff in parentheses and now I can't use my beautiful segue. But I just wanted to mention that my toe is killing me. You don't want to hear the gory details, I'm sure, but I am currently enjoying pretending that my doctor is going to be all mad at her husband because he didn't lift the toenail before like he was supposed to ... ahahaha, gooooooood tiiiiiiiiimes. XD;;;;;;;;

(Tomorrow is Rika's birthday! Happy birthday, Rika! She's the only H!P member whose birthday I ever remember, because it's so close to mine. Reina's birthday is on Remembrance Day but I didn't know that until it was too late, hahahaha, oh well!!! XD;;; )
arisha: (al and genie)
Shouted my brother as he was walking down the hall to brush his teeth: "Mechanikles!"

Said I, "Where did that come from?"

Said he, "Well, I had the spoon, right, and I was trying to figure out which episode it is where Aladdin hits people with a spoon ... and I thought, it was in the desert ... and I thought, who controls the sands? ... and I thought of the machine bugs with the jewels in them ... and I thought of the fat guy ... Mechanikles."

Said I, "The fat guy is Abis Mal."

Said he, with pride, "That was my train of thought."

Ahaha, if any of you are ever mad at me for talking about Aladdin all the time, just think of my poor brother, and how he spent his elementary school years being forced to watch the series over and over and over again. XD

So during our night of Esca goodness, [livejournal.com profile] athena_crikey educated me about her favourite commercial, Sierra Mist's Holiday Hawk commercial. I had never thought to look for my favourite commercial on YouTube before, but lo! Discovery.com's HELLO METEOR!!!! This has seriously got to be my favourite commercial ever. Just the fact that it came out when I was in middle school and I still remembered it as well as I did proves something, I think! Half of the funny of this commercial is the delivery so I hope my bad summary doesn't ruin the amusement for anyone I summarized it for. XD There is also Hello Mosquito and Hello Mosquito Outtakes and if memory serves there was some other one that I don't remember what it was, but in my humble opinion, Hello Meteor pwns them all. XD

Somehow this commercial discussion segues into ridiculous rambling about my novel, ahahaha. )

(I have a bizarre urge to go watch KoT right now. Because I was scrolling through my YouTube favourites list and saw there the "Stand" Aladdin video? That video does use some excellent KoT clips. Hmm ...)

Admittedly, this first paragraph is mostly for [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron: So the creators of Aladdin were struggling for a crazy long while and went through like six billion different drafts of the script, as far as I can tell, and I knew that before, but what I just learned today is that nearing the end of the process, Ted and Terry were called in to rewrite the movie's second half. !!!!!!!!!! PotC Ted and Terry!!!!! How ridiculous is it that I almost feel this redeems them for all the problems in PotC2?

I love that when talking PotC with my friends, we end up talking more about Ted and Terry than about Johnny. Maybe this is ridiculous (again), but I do feel grateful that I have friends who will put up with my attempts to analyse Disney and anime and who even respond in kind. <3333

I am trying to save all my novel-length LJ entries for after I have finished my two essays, so I am trying to keep this short, but nevertheless I shall continue to be obnoxious and post another video I found on YouTube. Does anyone remember Blossom? There is like nothing on the Internet about this show but I did find the opening. :) This show was on Family Channel the summer between seventh and eighth grade, and my mom and I watched it every day. Isn't that weird? I don't think it's the sort of show you're supposed to watch with your mom, haha. Looking back I kind of think it was too old for me at the time, anyway. :P I remember the feeling I got from the show more than I remember any of the actual content, but I do remember that the scene where Six admits her parents are getting a divorce made me cry, and that was even before I got into the habit of crying at everything I see on TV! Wow! XD; (Hahaha, well, when I found this on YouTube and watched it for the first time in seven years, I squeed when Joey appeared, which I never did when I was twelve. So I guess that's another indication that my hormones have changed since then, hahaha.)

Anyway, I am eagerly waiting for Blossom to come out on DVD. But I don't even know if it ever will. :( :( :( This, however, has yet to stop my family and I from constantly talking about that episode where Joey flushes his Lego down the toilet. Ahaha, I think that episode is second only to the one where he cheats on a test by writing his notes backwards on one arm and then taping a mirror to the other arm so he can read them. And ahahaha, I just remembered I always quote that one episode where the girl he likes compliments his house and he says, "Thanks. I built it." XD XD XD!!! Ahahahaha, Joey is awesome. Aaaaand I like the most ridiculous shows. XD;;;

Because my favourite way to procrastinate during this lull between school and essays/exams is to write novel-length LJ entries about my embarrassing obsessions, I was going to bless you all with another one today, but alas! [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron wrote me a reply in her journal and my response to that became my novel for today. I wrote five whole comments and I know you're all just dying to read them!! XD

I spent like my entire day watching videos on YouTube, whether or not you believe me. And I did some half-hearted cleaning of my room. I picked my Disneyland books off the floor and put them on the shelves and suddenly the room seemed so much nicer, hahaha, how dreadful.

Anyway, where I was going with the YouTube sentence was that in my travels across the site today, I came across an Aladdin video to Weird Al Yankovic's song "Your Horoscope for Today". I don't usually watch fan videos all that often or all that many times (except when I feel hardcore!!!); usually I'll watch a video once and say "Oh, that was nice" or "What on earth possessed you to make a Kingdom Hearts video to 'Hotel Lobby'? Do you know what that song is about?" (I am heartbroken that I am currently unable to locate this video :( ) and then I'll move on with my merry little life. But I just discovered this one today and already I have watched it six kabillion times!! Mostly I was glad to find it because, though I'm no expert, it seems to me that about 95% of Aladdin fanvids are centered around Al/Jas and based only on the first movie. Which gets boring nice and fast. So I was very glad to find this video, which includes clips from all three movies and a whole whack of series episodes, and focuses on the wackier side of things. And obviously I'm biased, but I think the resulting video is quite fantastic. XD It's so awesome how almost every lyric has a clip that matches it so well. I found a video to the same song that used clips from Naruto and Fullmetal Alchemist but didn't match as well. Isn't that hilarious? That video uses two series and still doesn't match as well as this one! Because like I told you, the Aladdin series is ridiculous enough to include all of this wacky stuff that's appropriate to the song. XD!!!

And perhaps now I should get off the computer ... ahahaha ... perhaps. :P
