Last night I discovered that, in the '70s, the Jackson 5 performed at the same Osaka concert hall where I saw Morning Musume. No one else will find this remotely interesting but to me it is for some reason the most hilarious thing!!

HEY GUYS REMEMBER THAT TRIP REPORT I WAS WRITING??

day eleven )
arisha: (Default)
New Morning Musume PV! It's nothing terribly original and some of the shots are straight out of Utada Hikaru's "Colours" (which I insist on spelling however I like!), but even so I love it! Due to my recently revived Michael Jackson obsession, the first time I watched "Nanchatte Renai" was also the first time I heard the song, and it's so much better than I was imagining, haha. xD; The rapping feels really out of place to me but I love the choruses and the "nande nan darou" parts. I am happy to report that MoMusu's recent releases have all been really strong - I love "Shou ga Nai Yume Oibito" (what a shocker though to hear MoMusu singing about how there's "a wall called reality" - whatever happened to be up and doing future is mine??) and MJ's death was basically the only thing that could've knocked Platinum 9 Disc out of my CD player, that album was my jam for like two months. <33

Man, I need to start studying for the JLPT again. D:

In more important news, thanks to the epicness that is the Michael Jackson Friending Meme (my comment is here, if anyone else thinks they'd find amusement in reading it), I'd like to say welcome to all the new people on my friendslist! :D Hopefully you find my LJ at least passably interesting. xD;

And to connect the two topics of this entry, I think I'll link to this 13nin Morning Musume performance, in which, at about two minutes in, they somehow manage to segue from the end of their song "Love Machine" right to the best part of MJ's "Thriller." xDDD

epic?

Guys, allow me to share with you the best comments on all of YouTube. xD
arisha: (reina)
I am doing this meme again, because I can. x)

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Read more... )

You guys you guys I am going to a Hello! Project concert! :D To be more precise, the Hello! Project Wonderful Hearts concert in Osaka on January 18th! :D And I have just discovered that the title of this concert tour is 革命元年, or FIRST YEAR OF THE REVOLUTION, hahahaha what the heck H!P I love you. xDDD

I sorta kinda asked for the cheapest seat, hahaha, so I won't be surprised if I find myself sitting in the very back row, but oh man I so don't care. xDD After seven years of being a fan of Morning Musume I'll finally get to see them, how weird is that?!?! xD I mean I'm looking forward to seeing Berryz and C-ute as well but definitely MoMusu is the main draw for me here. xD; Oh, and with any luck Buono! will make an appearance. And probably Kirari, but I am slightly less excited about her ... JUST KIDDING KOHARU I LOVE YOU TOO! ;D

I feel very calmly excited right now, hahaha. xD Also, last night I found out that like six of the places I want to go in Osaka are within something like five blocks of each other, so the current status of my trip planning: AWESOMESAUCE. xDDD

(Meanwhile, the current status of the novel I'm supposed to be revising this month: ... novel? What novel? :/ )
arisha: (scarlett o'hara)
Oh man you guys, the best thing about being horribly perpetually disorganized is that you sometimes find stuff you didn't remember you had and it is just like Christmas. Today's example:

Who knew that v-u-den had a best album?

Who knew that I owned it???? xDDDDD;
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
I bought the album Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus at work yesterday (lolz yes we are selling a ton of HM stuff!! xD Be proud of me that so far I have resisted buying all of it hahaha) and I am quite unashamed to say that I LOVE IT!!! And I am currently way too obsessed with "Start All Over."

Whoops! Time to go to work. x)

hahaha, list of acronyms you can't use on Morning Musume forums: HP for Harry Potter because it is too close to H!P for Hello! Project, HM for Hannah Montana because it is too close to HM@ for Haromoni@. xDDD
arisha: (scarlett o'hara)
So my today started very uneventfully, and then went off in an unexpected direction! Read more... )

Now for a spot of homeworking and then bed. :3

A classmate bullied me into revealing how many times I saw At World's End in theatres.

Sarah: "Thirteen times, and I went and sat in on it on my breaks, so probably more like fourteen times."
Classmate: "I never actually got around to seeing it. Is it worth renting?"
Sarah: "No."

So for all of you who are man enough to take it ...

(And for all of you who saw this coming ...)

Pirates of the Caribbean - "Kanashimi Twilight"

I was going to write an actual substantial entry about this video (and the hoops that WMM made me jump through just to be able to save it without some of the clips disappearing on me ;_; ), but it seriously took three hours to upload and now it is six a.m. which, believe it or not, is after even my bedtime. However, if you find this video to be little more than a random mishmash of Pirates clips set to a song you can't understand, let me know and I will outline for you what I was trying to convey. x)

Fun Fact #1: To me, "Kanashimi Twilight" is a TOTAL break-up song, no question. But when it was released it seemed like everyone thought it was a love song. I could understand that if you only paid attention to the verses, but the choruses, come on! "I don't trust men because they're nothing but lies"? "I was convinced you'd be different than other men"? "Even if you apologize, it's meaningless"? Some love song. ^^;;

Fun Fact #2: The DMC footage is all ripped from my Japanese copy, because for some reason I had no idea how to fix, my Region 1 copy refused to be ripped. :P GOOD THING I HAVE A SPARE!!
arisha: (scarlett o'hara)
So our theatre finally got its turn with the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds concert film (in Disney Digital 3-D!!), and I went to the screening tonight (ahaha as all my co-workers predicted I would xD; what they don't even know is that I was watching Hannah Montana right before I went to work! AND IT WAS THE JONAS BROTHERS EPISODE, TOO!!!), and oh wow. This movie is the most postmodern thing I have ever seen in my life. I'm not entirely convinced "postmodern" is the word I want, but I do know that the movie broke my brain. Can I even explain it? hahaha I don't know! :X

So basically there is this girl named Miley Cyrus. On TV, she plays a girl named Miley Stewart. Miley Stewart is the secret identity of famous pop star Hannah Montana. So Hannah Montana is a famous pop star in the fictional world of this TV show. Only ... Hannah Montana then gets a real life concert tour. But the rules of the TV show don't apply, because everyone going to this concert knows that Hannah Montana is a fictional pop star. Only now she's a real pop star. But everyone knows she's really Miley Stewart. Only Miley Stewart is a fictional character, played by Miley Cyrus. And Miley Stewart makes no appearance in this concert, but Miley Cyrus does. And I wish I were smarter so I could write a really deep and fascinating essay on this, but do you see what I am getting at?? It is like when Seinfeld did that arc about the fictional Jerry Seinfeld getting a TV show. WHERE IS THE LINE BETWEEN REALITY AND FICTION????

When the Hannah half of the concert ended and the Miley half began (I'm ignoring the skinny jeaned terror that is the Jonas Brothers' intermission), my co-worker (fed up, I suspect, with the incessant shrieking of the concert's preteen audience) cried, "She's the same person!!" And I'm like, well, yeah, she is ... but she's not. Get it???? XD;;;

In a way I think I was way too fascinated by this concert. I feel like I can't even say I'm a Hannah Montana fan. I think I'm more just addicted to it. It's a combination of "Oh wow this is exactly the sort of thing I used to write in middle school," "IT'S DISNEY? THEN I'LL WATCH IT!," and now this brain-breaking Miley=Hannah=Miley? business. xD;

In other news, a PV for MoMusu's "Resonant Blue" was released today, and I am keeping the faith that this is just the dance shot and we'll be getting a more interesting PV closer to the single's release. :X Haha everything I have to say about this video has already been said by everyone else. xD But basically: 1) Reina, my favourite MoMusu member, has a huge lead in this song, but even so I think it is GakiKame* who own this PV. Those two have totally won me over with their Haromoni@ segments, but more than that, I think they manage to capture the feeling and spirit of the song better than any of the other members (that we can see :P ). 2) The shots of Sayumi for her "Help me!" line ... so bizarre. Not the shots themselves, but the fact that the PV totally focuses on five girls, and Sayumi is not one of them, and then out of nowhere at the very end we get two shots of just her. It's like, wow, who is this random girl? :P

But I still heart the song and the dance is definitely growing on me. I just feel bad for eighth gen, who got SHAFTED. D:

Also I am SO looking forward to staying home ALL DAY tomorrow, it is just what I have been longing for all week and it is going to be lovely~. This week has been really weird and I have been sorta kinda under the weather and ... yeah. I dunno. Stuff. :///

* Hahaha, you know how celebrity couples and fictional couples get their names shoved together and it's ridiculous? In H!P you just have to be paired together for whatever reason and bam! xD Tsujikago, Ishiyoshi, Gakikame, GAM, YAM ... xDDD hahaha MAN I STILL WANT YAM TO HAPPEN D:

** I have told my friends that when I get myself a boy, I fully expect them to make up a ridiculous couple name for us. I feel I need to repeat this request periodically because I WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED IF THEY FORGET. D:
arisha: (potc2 lolz! XD)
So my friend/co-worker K is going to Disneyland in June (leaving there on her birthday what the heck worst timing ever - I should tell her to grab a birthday button anyway xD ). Last month, she went on a roadtrip for which another of our co-workers made her a sort of scavenger hunt type of list of things to find and take pictures of. (One was "Take a picture with a hot guy" - they took a picture with a standee of the Maytag Man, hahahaha. xDD ) She seemed to really enjoy it, so I asked if she would like me to make her a similar list for Disneyland, and she said YES. :D But now I have to actually come up with stuff!! haha. This is roughly what I kinda have so far:

- Take a picture of a tourist with a cowboy hat. (Suggested by my mom haha. x) )
- Take a picture of the sails in New Orleans Square. (This one might be too hard, though? [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I only found them 'cause I knew roughly where they were.)
- Take a picture of the Evil Queen in her tower. (I think this one is easier but still maybe too hard.)
- Take a picture of a ride that's under construction. (Is Small World down yet? I should probably check.)
- Take a picture of a real live animal.

K's own suggestion was "Poke Dumbo," and then she mimed it and it was hilarious. xDDD

So after my break I go back to the office--

Sarah: "I'm gonna make K a scavenger hunt list for when she goes to Disneyland. What should I put on it?"
Manager: "... What do you think you should put on it?"
Sarah: "Well the only thing I've thought of so far is 'Take a picture with Jack Sparrow,' but she'll probably do that anyway."
Manager: "... I don't think they have a Jack Sparrow walking around Disneyland."
Sarah: "Yes they do! I met him!!"
Manager: "Yeah, well you're a liar."

hahahahaha awwwww xD;;;

Oh I should mention, another of my co-workers, also with the initial K, went to Disneyland last month, and this manager was teasing her, saying he was going to call Disneyland with a bomb threat so that they would have to shut down and she wouldn't be able to go. D: I asked him what he thought would happen if he really called Disneyland with a bomb threat and she said he would be arrested. Immediately. xD;;;;;

(Man I find it really bizarre how after I got interested in Disney parks, they started popping up all over the place and now all of a sudden everyone I know is planning a trip. o_O;;; You know how when you learn a new word you suddenly see it all the time? It's like that, but so weird.)

Okay this next conversation has nothing to do with the rest of this entry.

Brother: "So why do you wanna see Jumper?"
Sarah: "Because it has two Morning Musume songs in it! :D :D "
Brother: "... That's all?"
Sarah: "... Yeah! :D :D "
Brother: "You need to rethink your life."

hahahaha aw man, I was afraid of that. D:
arisha: (Default)
Oh man I just found out that MoMusu's "Sexy Boy" and "Happy Summer Wedding" are apparently in Jumper.

I am a mixture of WHY DO I KEEP MAKING ENTRIES ABOUT THIS MOVIE??? and OH MAN I HAVE TO GO SEE IT NOW!!!!!
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
Oh gosh, you guys. Pirates 4 is apparently official. And I don't care if I am the only person excited about this, because I am excited enough for every person in the whole entire world.

Which is kind of hilarious, considering the other announcements in that article. National Treasure 3? Eh, I'll probably see it. Cars 2? Don't care. Tron 2? Who in their right mind ...

Anyway, my Disney Movie Club order arrived today (haha this is why I have that goal in my last entry _-_; ), and I have just finished watching The Aristocats for the first time ever. Eh, it was okay. There were parts that were better than others. Practically every single character shared their voice with another Disney character, and it was so obvious. ^^;; O HALLO BALOO. And it was kind of creepy the way O'Malley was all "We just met like twenty minutes ago, but I totally wanna come live with you." COOL. Well I liked it better than I expected to, so I shouldn't be so harsh. x);

So this means the Disney theatrical animated features that I still have yet to see are:
· Saludos Amigos (I'm looking forward to the caballeros on DVD next month :) )
· Make Mine Music (lolz, I totally own this one, too)
· Fun and Fancy Free (haha well I guess I've seen half of it!)
· Melody Time (but I really want to see it)
· Oliver & Company (likewise)
· Home on the Range (I was too angry at Disney to see this movie when it came out)
· Chicken Little (I was too cool for Disney to see this movie when it came out)

Edit: omg omg MoMusu's new single. It PWNS MY SOUL. Oh gosh I'm only two minutes into it but it's so awesome. I'm afraid everyone's gonna hate it because it doesn't really sound like something MoMusu would usually sing, but at the moment my verdict is I LOVE IT. And apparently the dance is "kakkoii," so as long as the outfits don't suck, I am pretty excited about this single! XDDD

(And I love that Reina was the first one to get to play the song on her radio show. xDDD )

I was just thinking earlier today that it's been almost a year since the release of "Kanashimi Twilight." haha. And almost three years since "Osaka Koi no Uta." Apparently I love them spring singles. xDDD
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
"Jingisukan" PV!!!

MY FAITH IN BERRYZ KOUBOU HAS BEEN RESTORED!

That shot at 2:41 is like my favourite thing from any H!P PV ever. hahahahaha. Oh gosh I don't even like Momoko but look at her pimpin' that guitar hahahahaha oh man. It's too much! xDDD

And I actually like Chinami in this PV! Another thing that is surprising!! (2:17-2:20 = LOVE)

(lawl, the first time Risako shows up in those huge sunglasses, I was like, "Maimai ... ?" x)); )

I never talk about them because I still feel like a freak for listening to them aha, but I think Berryz are actually my second favourite H!P group. I had been disappointed by their recent ballady turn, but oh, they have won me back. xDDD

MAYBE I WILL SING BERRYZ AT KARAOKE TOMORROW it will be awsm. x333

Anyway, enough fangirling, now to go upstairs and find out whether or not my brother and his girlfriend have burned down the kitchen.
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
So for those of you who are man enough to take it, I made an OPV! xD

Morning Musume - "Potential Breakup Song"

(Hahahaha, all my favourite songs are break-up songs, I swear. xD )

This video isn't perfect (and YouTube made it all ugly :( ), but I am so proud of it and I had a ridiculous amount of fun making it. A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT. And so I'm actually really sad it only took me like a week to make, and am secretly secretly hoping that someone will comment on this entry begging me to make another video out of clips from MoMusu PVs. xDD (Suggest a song and I might just do it! xD;; )

I only used clips from "The Manpower!!!" on, because I wanted the focus to be the current line-up of MoMusu. This didn't exactly work, haha; there's definitely a lot of Miki and Yossie and Konkon in this video and not enough Aika or Junjun or Linlin ... but so long as the video gives off a vibe of "Current MoMusu is awesome!!" and not a vibe of "Golden Age MoMusu is awesome!!," then I'm happy. xD;

OKAY I SHOULD STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS NOW. xDD; But let me know what you think! :D
arisha: (enchanted holla)
Having missed the last promotional t-shirt at work by basically a matter of days (and it was a Pirates shirt, too!!), I was very excited to walk into the theatre today and see that promotional t-shirt time has come again! xD Oh it is hilarious because I would never think to wear this shirt on my own time but for work, aaah it is just so much more comfy than our usual uniform. It is a promotion for the movie Charlie Bartlett and here is what the t-shirts say:

people like you
ARE THE REASON
people like me
NEED MEDICATION.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I KID YOU NOT

Can you imagine wearing this shirt in a customer service job? It kinda makes me really happy inside. xDD

hahaha sorry I am feeling much too lazy to think of a wittier way to write this entry. xD;

Edit: I just discovered I can rip Japanese DVDs on my computer without having to change the region on it!! xD WIN!

NOT THAT THIS MEANS I AM MAKING A MORNING MUSUME OPV OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT

Gosh I need an actual hobby. D:

Oh, and update on the shirt: I spilled chocolate milk on it. D:

NOT EVEN REAL CHOCOLATE MILK

THE KIND OF MILK YOU GET WHEN YOU EAT REESE'S PIECES CEREAL

...

...

NOT THAT I WAS EATING REESE'S PIECES CEREAL

Gosh I need some actual food. D:
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
So this morning on the bus, someone had their music turned up loud enough that I could hear it, just enough to listen for a bit and then think, "Huh, that sounds almost like a girly J-pop song. I wonder what American artist is making music that sounds like that?"

And then I hear: "We welcome this happiness tonight!"

SOMEONE WAS LISTENING TO BERRYZ KOUBOU ON MY BUS!!!!!

hahaha best thing evar. xDD

And so I imagined it was some girl sitting behind me who was the culprit, but of course it was silly for me to think that, and it was totally the dude sitting in front of me. EVEN MORE AWESOME. xDD;
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
I copied [livejournal.com profile] shadoweddestiny and ranked my favourite MoMusu singles. I think it turned out pretty accurate, overall. I always feel kind of bad talking about my favourite MoMusu singles, though, because my number one favourite MoMusu single at any given time tends to be one that they've released within the past year. It's just I've listened to all the previous singles way too many times and so it's not that I don't like them, it's just that I'm a little tired of hearing them. ^^;;

lulz, I never even listen to anything after number thirty-four. xD;

memo wa sukoshi nagai kedo )

I also tried ranking my favourite MoMusu members but after the first five or so members I didn't feel it was very accurate. :p Yossie, Rika and Reina were the top three but then I could've told you that anyway! xD
arisha: (enchanted holla)
So I was telling my mom about the awesomeness of Enchanted and I was listing off for her all the references to other Disney movies that I found within it, and just after I told her about the apple rolling out of Giselle's hand, she told me that these references were all things that nobody but me would ever catch.

Okay, admittedly some of them were kind of obscure or subtle or whatever, but I honestly thought the Snow White arm part was really obvious! :X :X :X :X

(P.S.: How does Giselle know how to use a vacuum while Edward can't even manage a revolving door? lulz. xD )

Oh, and the other day I was talking about how I have bought way too much Morning Musume stuff this year, and my mom said, "They probably just change the members around all the time and hope nobody notices."

Hahahahahahaha ... oh, Mom. xD;;
