I am doing this meme again, because I can. x)
List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs.
In alphabetical order:
"Edo no Temari Uta II" (C-ute)
I only listened to this for the first time recently, and I didn't much like it. Then I listened to it again, and OMG ADDICTED. Not quite sure why, although the lyrics do make reference to a(t least one) famous haiku, something I recognized right away, so I think I love this song in the same way I love "Ukifune": it makes me feel smart. :3
"Flawed Design" (Stabilo)
I don't actually have anything to say about this one. I just like singing along to it. >xD
"Hakatakko Junjou" (Tulip)
So I've actually been using YouTube quite a bit while planning my upcoming trip to Japan (FIVE SLEEPS omgomgomg!!). It's kind of bizarre to see how many people have filmed themselves buying train tickets/using ATMs/getting on the bus, hahaha, but at the same time it's good that they have because this stuff will hopefully be helpful to me in the near future. Anyway, at some point I was apparently looking up random stuff about Fukuoka, and came across this song. And I have actually listened to it quite a number of times, haha. Between this and MoMusu's Cover You, I am all about the old J-pop lately! xD;
"I Know What You Are" (Twilight score)
Make fun of me if you must, but I listened to this over and over while I wrote my last essay of undergrad -- an essay on which I got 100/100. COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT!!
It occurs to me that I have not previously written about my feelings for Twilight. Basically, I feel it is like candy. Hilarious, hilarious candy. Having said that, though, perhaps my favourite part of this score is that it's creepier than any of the music used in my copy of Nosferatu, and I would like to know what is up with that.
(Crap now I really want to see Twilight again.)
"Koi no Dial 6700" (Morning Musume)
Two things about this song:
a) apparently, it was originally sung by The Jackson Five (lol, I kid because I love!!), and
b) the person Tsunku chose to sing the "rinrin"s at the beginning is ... Linlin. AND PEOPLE SAY HE ISN'T A GENIUS!!! >xDDD
Okay, so this list totally fails because that's only five and I can't really think of any other songs that aren't also from Cover You. ^^; But to make up for that I think I'll leave you with Linda Yamamoto performing "Dou ni mo Tomaranai" at the 1972 Kouhaku (man, I remember when one of my profs didn't know what Kouhaku was, and I was just like, man, how could you be a Japanese culture prof and not know what Kouhaku is). Ahahaha, wow, old J-pop really is the craziest thing ever. xD
In completely unrelated news, I finished watching Some Like it Hot tonight and wow, I kind of loved it. XDD
