A classmate bullied me into revealing how many times I saw At World's End in theatres.

Sarah: "Thirteen times, and I went and sat in on it on my breaks, so probably more like fourteen times."
Classmate: "I never actually got around to seeing it. Is it worth renting?"
Sarah: "No."

So for all of you who are man enough to take it ...

(And for all of you who saw this coming ...)

Pirates of the Caribbean - "Kanashimi Twilight"

I was going to write an actual substantial entry about this video (and the hoops that WMM made me jump through just to be able to save it without some of the clips disappearing on me ;_; ), but it seriously took three hours to upload and now it is six a.m. which, believe it or not, is after even my bedtime. However, if you find this video to be little more than a random mishmash of Pirates clips set to a song you can't understand, let me know and I will outline for you what I was trying to convey. x)

Fun Fact #1: To me, "Kanashimi Twilight" is a TOTAL break-up song, no question. But when it was released it seemed like everyone thought it was a love song. I could understand that if you only paid attention to the verses, but the choruses, come on! "I don't trust men because they're nothing but lies"? "I was convinced you'd be different than other men"? "Even if you apologize, it's meaningless"? Some love song. ^^;;

Fun Fact #2: The DMC footage is all ripped from my Japanese copy, because for some reason I had no idea how to fix, my Region 1 copy refused to be ripped. :P GOOD THING I HAVE A SPARE!!

That video (MMV? x.x) was totally awesome! Definitely my favourite of yours, so far (I like how you've totally been sucked into the world of music video making.) I loved the music synching, and the love square, (and how you just slid Barbossa in there that one time ^^) and the image themes, Elizabeth behind windows/bars, etc. Ahaha.

On watching it again and listening slightly more to the lyrics, I picked up on the angle you probably meant to convey, rather than the one I assumed originally (screwed over by her love interests), namely: screwed over by men (all the time!) Or, maybe not. But anyway, from that angle I liked it even more than the first time (especially since the inclusion of Barbossa and her father made more sense.) Yeah.

haha, yeah, I was thinking more men in general more than love interests. xD; (I wanted to include more Beckett but he and Elizabeth don't actually have a lot of scenes together! D: ) But I like your first interpretation too!

LOLZ but did you notice the random clip of Annamaria? xDDDDD!

Okay my comments aren't even making sense anymore. 4:30am = time to go to bed? D:

Awww, I didn't expect such a positive comment! *^_^* hahaha.

(MMV? x.x)

Man I dunno. I still wanna call it an AMV. Even if it's technically not. :X IN MY HEART THAT'S WHAT IT IS!!

(I like how you've totally been sucked into the world of music video making.)

I think I would've been sucked in earlier, too, but that it's only recently that I've had access to a movie-making program. :X

the image themes, Elizabeth behind windows/bars, etc.

And here I thought I was just putting those shots in because they looked cool!

I'M EVEN MORE AWESOME THAN I THOUGHT!! xD

Region 1 copies have ripping protection built into the dvd, right? That would probably be your problem. A SPARE INDEED.

Man, my problem with Japanese choruses is that they do not understand the concept: it should be the same every time, you gais. Geez.

P.S. Good video, btw. ^^;;

That is what I suspected, but if that's the case I find it rather bizarre that they encoded one movie like that and not the other two. Because the other two ripped just fine!

But my Region 1 DMC does have a skip in it, so if protection isn't the issue then that would be my second guess. :P

Your comment about Japanese choruses made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! xD Man I totally remembered being boggled by that when I first started learning the words to Japanese songs. Now it seems weird to me that so many English songs keep the chorus the same!

And thank you. xD

That's true, though I think the built-in protection has been getting more common recently, so the others might just be too old to have it? *does not know*

I also love how they often don't make sense. At all. Granted that's not exclusive to Japan (Mmmbop, anyone?), but still. Someday, I will write a paper comparing Japanese music and English music re: their development from two really different styles of poetry.

If the chorus isn't the same (or mostly the same), how are you supposed to learn it?!

You're welcome. ^^
