I hate that just as I am on the cusp of graduation (well, not quite, but I'll spare you the messy details), I keep finding these student internship type things that I might like to do. It makes me feel like I should just delay my graduation indefinitely so I can spend the rest of my life doing these awesome temporary jobs, haha. "Yes of COURSE I am a student!! :D" sort of thing.

hmm.

I have not been posting lately because I have been sick for a week and it has zapped away what little motivation I had to do anything. haha, SWEET. Well this is not entirely true. I've been doing some stuff. But I'm still not very happy that my summer is starting off this way. :/

AUGH THIS ENTRY SUX I'm sorry x_x;

Oh but I have to mention! Here is what K wrote on my Facebook wall this morning:
"I HAVE TONSILITIS!!"
hahahahaaa, context much? xDDD;
arisha: (scarlett o'hara)
So my today started very uneventfully, and then went off in an unexpected direction! Read more... )

Now for a spot of homeworking and then bed. :3

So people often ask if I'm going to grad school and I say no and here is the short and simple reason why not: I hate writing essays. There are maybe two essays in the history of ever that I have actively enjoyed writing. The rest of the time, it is pulling teeth.

I am writing what should be my last big essay of this degree but I can't even celebrate that fact because I just hate it so. much.

Also, I have a friend who writes her essays like weeks in advance and then there is me who starts essays two hours before they are due. (Profs say they can tell. I take it as a challenge. I declare them all to be liars.) And so I love conversations such as this--

betaraider: "What if you don't finish in time?"
Sarah: "I always do."
betaraider: "But what if you don't?"
Sarah: "But I always do."

hahaha I would say that I work well under pressure except I don't think I actually do and in case I haven't mentioned? I HATE IT.
arisha: (potc2 lolz! XD)
So my friend/co-worker K is going to Disneyland in June (leaving there on her birthday what the heck worst timing ever - I should tell her to grab a birthday button anyway xD ). Last month, she went on a roadtrip for which another of our co-workers made her a sort of scavenger hunt type of list of things to find and take pictures of. (One was "Take a picture with a hot guy" - they took a picture with a standee of the Maytag Man, hahahaha. xDD ) She seemed to really enjoy it, so I asked if she would like me to make her a similar list for Disneyland, and she said YES. :D But now I have to actually come up with stuff!! haha. This is roughly what I kinda have so far:

- Take a picture of a tourist with a cowboy hat. (Suggested by my mom haha. x) )
- Take a picture of the sails in New Orleans Square. (This one might be too hard, though? [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I only found them 'cause I knew roughly where they were.)
- Take a picture of the Evil Queen in her tower. (I think this one is easier but still maybe too hard.)
- Take a picture of a ride that's under construction. (Is Small World down yet? I should probably check.)
- Take a picture of a real live animal.

K's own suggestion was "Poke Dumbo," and then she mimed it and it was hilarious. xDDD

So after my break I go back to the office--

Sarah: "I'm gonna make K a scavenger hunt list for when she goes to Disneyland. What should I put on it?"
Manager: "... What do you think you should put on it?"
Sarah: "Well the only thing I've thought of so far is 'Take a picture with Jack Sparrow,' but she'll probably do that anyway."
Manager: "... I don't think they have a Jack Sparrow walking around Disneyland."
Sarah: "Yes they do! I met him!!"
Manager: "Yeah, well you're a liar."

hahahahaha awwwww xD;;;

Oh I should mention, another of my co-workers, also with the initial K, went to Disneyland last month, and this manager was teasing her, saying he was going to call Disneyland with a bomb threat so that they would have to shut down and she wouldn't be able to go. D: I asked him what he thought would happen if he really called Disneyland with a bomb threat and she said he would be arrested. Immediately. xD;;;;;

(Man I find it really bizarre how after I got interested in Disney parks, they started popping up all over the place and now all of a sudden everyone I know is planning a trip. o_O;;; You know how when you learn a new word you suddenly see it all the time? It's like that, but so weird.)

Okay this next conversation has nothing to do with the rest of this entry.

Brother: "So why do you wanna see Jumper?"
Sarah: "Because it has two Morning Musume songs in it! :D :D "
Brother: "... That's all?"
Sarah: "... Yeah! :D :D "
Brother: "You need to rethink your life."

hahahaha aw man, I was afraid of that. D:
arisha: (potc2 lolz! XD)
Here is a line that will hopefully remain amusing even when taken out of context. Well, basically my manager and a co-worker were talking about what if they were to do something that would offend me, haha.

Manager: "And then Sarah would be like, 'Aah! My virgin eyes, ears, and nose!'"

xDD;

And also--

Co-worker: "I mean, even Sarah could tell I was joking!"
Sarah: "And Sarah's pretty dense."
Manager: "And able to recognize her own faults!"
Co-worker: "You know what Sarah's biggest fault is?"
*pause*
Co-worker: "Her brother."

Ba-dum-chish! xDDD;;

Work today was full of fantastic drama (the kind I find amusing, not the high school drama of last week which featured girls hiding in the change room, crying over boys :// ) that I was going to write about ... but now I don't feel like it. haha this is the best paragraph you've ever read, don't deny it.

Also today I got to cash out a co-worker who had only used her till for two transactions, for a total of $4.71 in cash and like $5 in debit sales. HAHAHA I love when that happens, it makes life so easy. xDDD

Also also, it has been about two months now that I have been sleeping from about five a.m. until about one p.m. ... and to be honest, I am kind of over it. :// It is pretty inconvenient to be so out of synch with daylight, your friends, your classmates, your classes, the bus system, your uni cafeteria, most businesses ... So this week I'm hoping to start the transition back (lol, as if I was ever there in the first place) to something more reasonable. I feel this is a big step, you guyz. :X

Also also also, my four-disc Gone With the Wind DVD set arrived today. XDDDDD You don't have to tell me that you're jealous; I already know. xDD

OKAY NEW GOAL: I am not buying any more DVDs until I finish watching all of the ones I still haven't finished watching. :X I think this includes some Trojan War, some FMA, like five Walt Disney Treasures hahaha (fandom!secret: I haven't finished watching the recent Disneyland one because I love it so much that I don't want to finish watching it :( ), and such Disney classics as Darby O'Gill and the Little People. That last one I should perhaps watch with [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron, as a way to help prepare her for adventures abroad. XDD

HAHAHA my DVD collection is so bipolar, it totally cracks me up. XD

This LJ entry has derailed, as usual. :PP
arisha: (kanashimi twilight is so much love)
Oh and maybe this is a totally stupid story but I am sharing it anyway!

Having escaped working on my group presentation until tomorrow, I was lingering around UVic after class trying to decide what I wanted to do next when lo! I hear the dulcet tones of my friend A talking on her cell phone! So I ran over to her and totally followed her around while she had a full conversation with her dad. xDDD But when she got off the phone, she offered me a ride home! Except it soon turned out that by "ride home" she meant "ride to the video store near your house," because really the only reason she offered was because she had some DVDs to return. FAIR ENOUGH. So she ditched me there and I took the longer(ish) way back to my neighbourhood and then I went to the playground and then I went to the cemetery and as I was exiting through the gates, finally intending to actually go home, my dad, on his way home from work, pulled up to the curb and picked me up.

DRIVING SARAH HOME IS A TAG TEAM EFFORT

Also, today in PACI we had a quiz where we had to make up our own question. Looks like I picked the wrong week to not do the readings. :// (The best part of this was that the prof had to run back to his office as per usual while we wrote the quiz, and on his way out he warned us not to cheat in his absence. As soon as he was gone, a classmate who had walked in late asked, "All right everyone, what's the answer?" Which was met with a reply of, "What's the question?" And then said late classmate looked down at his sheet, realized what was happening, and swore. Oh, the lolz~)
arisha: (scarlett o'hara)
1) I want to play The Sims 2 but the disc is upstairs and due to my eight-hour shift today my feet hurt so much that I am dreading walking up to get it.

LIFE IS HARD

2) Here is a line that I honest to goodness said to a guest today, after he'd commented on my Aladdinlicious nametag and informed me that his childhood favourite movie was The Little Mermaid (how man of him to own up to that!): "The Little Mermaid used to be my favourite movie. Then I matured."

OH GOD I GET WITTIER EVERY DAY

3) There is a new box office girl and today I was sorta kinda put in charge of training her. I apparently know my job well enough to teach it to other people?! WHO KNEW. I think I am a really horrid trainer, though, to be quite honest. I am not very good at explaining things and I stumble over my words a lot. MAN I HATE THAT I STUMBLE OVER WORDS ALL THE TIME. I just have to pretend that it is a) my mouth struggling to catch up with my genius brain, and b) an endearing trait.

And if I get comments to this entry that run along the lines of "Oh Sarah, I never noticed that you stumble over words all the time," I am going to hate myself for bringing it up.

4) I was thinking the other day that maybe I should feel some more loyalty towards my brother with regards to all the drama that surrounds him all the time, in particular his breaking up with K in December, but at the same time, let's look at how my Wednesday went. I was having a spectacularly slow day at work, and when K arrived early for her shift, she stood(!) by box office and chatted with me for a full hour(!!), and we made plans to hang out on Monday if she can get rid of the on call shift she has that day(!!!).

Then I came home and my brother let me talk at him for about a minute before he kicked me out of his room.

GEE I WONDER WHY I LIKE HER BEST

5) I watched Bringing Up Baby last night. :D When my mom passed through the room she was all, "This again??" but I don't watch it THAT much!! :p Man I kinda think that movie is the movie that convinced me that black and white movies could be watchable. So I was totally amused when I learned that my grandmother had changed the channel on it because the characters talk over each other all the time. xDD But that's what makes it so funny!! xD

6) The Oscars are on tomorrow night!! I plan to watch them, really just for Jon Stewart (saw him on Larry King tonight, hahaha so funny xD ) and Alan Menken and any PotC that might manage to get itself included, but who knows, I might just give up ten minutes in. I read an article the other day about how Alan's worried the three Enchanted songs will split the vote in a way that will prevent him from winning. Man that would suck so bad!! I hope that doesn't happen. I really want "That's How You Know" to win. :((
arisha: (Default)
I want to write an entry but I'm also pretty sleepy. haha. ^^;

stuffffffs )

Oh wait, I remembered one more thing to say. xD; Today this woman came to buy her sons tickets for AVP:R (rated 18A), only these kids were too young to go in by themselves, so she asked if they could see I Am Legend (rated 14A) by themselves, and I said if they're both fourteen or older, and she said "They'll be fourteen in March," and when I said that wasn't good enough she went all angst on me. Well, okay, admittedly she was very nice compared to other customers to whom I have the pleasure of explaining these rules, but you know what bugs me most of all?

THAT THESE PEOPLE DON'T JUST LIE.

Because if she had just told me that these kids were fourteen, then who am I to call her on it? It's not like I'm gonna ask for ID, what fourteen-year-old carries ID? I hate that I get complained at because people don't have the gall to lie. :P

hahaha just wait till I'm a parent. IT'S GONNA BE AWESOME!!
(who am I kidding. my kid isn't gonna be allowed to see a 14A movie till he's twenty. xDDD )
arisha: (Default)
Here is the finished half of an AWE entry I have been puttering away at for a month. xD; GOSH I COULD WRITE ABOUT THIS MOVIE FOREVER. <333

PotC queries! )

I hope everyone had a good Hallowe'en. :) This morning I dressed up once more as Hannah Montana and then [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I ran around town for a couple of hours, hahaha. Her co-worker gave us chocolates and I found out I have Friday off, yay! Then I came home and opened my package from CDJapan, woot! :D I finally got Maki Goto's album How to Use Sexy, after she announced her graduation from H!P. :( I can see how this graduation could be a very good thing for her, but at the same time I am so afraid that we'll never hear from her again. Don't let that happen, Gocchin!! As for the album, eh. I really like "How to Use Loneliness" and "Give Me Love," and "Glass no Pumps" is as awesome as ever, but what is up with all the slower songs?!?! Not cool. :p I also got MoMusu's fancy pants All Singles Complete, and even without listening to it yet I give it an A++. xD I wish I could afford to buy this set for everyone I know, seriously. I <3 MoMusu.

Then my mom and I watched The Last Mimzy, which we rented really only because she'd read a review saying it was better than The Seeker. MAN NO WAY, The Seeker is A MILLION TIMES BETTER!!! My biggest problem with The Seeker was that it felt like they had cut out a bunch of parts. I kept wanting more exposition, as painful as that movie's exposition dumps were. :x My biggest problem with Mimzy is that it took FOREVER for anything to happen. Plus the people of the future were only onscreen for like a combined total of five minutes, so I really did not care at all whether they lived or died. So that was kind of frustrating ... I had been looking forward to watching it. :(

But my brother's girlfriend bought me a chocolate in the shape of Santa Claus, so it evened out I think.

Then we got a grand total of one trick-or-treater. :((( It was a good one, though! xD He was dressed as, like, a gangster rapper or something, haha, and instead of saying "Trick or treat!" and holding out a bucket or a bag, he said "Trick or treat!," took the baseball cap off his head and held that out. xDDD; When I said I'd give him a bunch of candy because we hadn't had any other kids so far, he said, "Yeah, because you live on a hill," and he was very nice and polite and said "Thank you" all nice and I know I'm a huge dork, but having such a friendly little trick-or-treater totally made my Hallowe'en, even if he was the only one and even if I did miss watching The Halloween Tree on TV. xD;

AND YOU KNOW WHAT THE BEST PART OF HALLOWE'EN IS??? xD That it's NaNoWriMo Eve!!! :DDD We are an hour into NaNoWriMo 2007 and I have yet to write anything, but I am way excited and shall post an excerpt as soon as I can. <333

Woot! xD
arisha: (potc3 liz)
Sarah: "Today I joined the Disney Movie Club! They sent me stickers!"
Brother: "Yeah, right. You made that club up yourself. Then you made those stickers. And died a little inside."

Aaaaahahaha, oh gosh, I really did die a little inside, I think. I felt very dirty filling out the form, because it was totally admitting that I buy enough Disney DVDs that, "obligation to buy" or not, this thing is easily going to save me money. :X Ah, I spend way too much money on DVDs, my mother tells me that's all I ever buy. xD But today I ordered three Disney sequels of varying quality all for just two dollars total, so who cares~~~~~~ XDDDDD

In completely other news, I went to the doctor today to get the wax washed out of my ears. cut for gross? )

What else ... I worked on my JaNo novel today and yesterday, which is really terrible of me because I should be working on the novel I want to have a first draft of by the end of the year. ^^; But I randomly started getting ideas for this one so whatever. This evening I went to betaraider's and saw 300 for the first time, but I think listening to six months of people praising it was bound to leave me disappointed. :p (Wow, it was only released in March?? I feel like it was released soooooooooo much longer ago!)

I feel like I am slacking re: studying but at the same time I feel like we're still so early in the school year and already I've done a lot. My classes so far are fine but I dunno, I sort of lost my drive in third year and I thought I might get it back but so far that's not the case. :( I mean, I like university, but I really don't care for all the work they shove into three months. And it makes me just want to not do any of it. Because I'm mature like that, haha. But whatever, so far so good, I have a Japanese literature class that is the MOST INTENSE CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN. There's only five students and it's all Japanese all the time which means the other four get to listen to my aaaaaaaawful speaking. xDDD Why do I hate when people are all, "lol, this is my friend Sarah, lol, she's so totally fluent in Japanese"? BECAUSE I'M NOT. Feel free to ask any of these classmates if you don't believe me, hahaha, they're the ones who get to listen to me stumble through my answers to the hundreds of questions the prof asks every class. xD But I really like this prof, though! He is so friendly and happy and enthusiastic, and maybe it's horrible to say this but he kind of reminds me of Matthew from Matthew's Best Hit TV. Well, considering how awesome I think Matthew is, I guess that's not really a mean thing to say, and anyway this prof isn't quite as crazy as Matthew is ... yet. xDDD

AND BEFORE I FORGET! XD Here are two YouTube videos that are currently ruling my life:

After Today
A group of college kids got together and made a live action version of "After Today" from A Goofy Movie. WHICH IS AWESOME ENOUGH IN ITSELF, RIGHT??? xDDD But it is pretty amusing in other ways, too. XD XD And then I watched it so many times I had this song stuck in my head the entire next day. A little tiring! ^^;; I am actually really amused by all the love A Goofy Movie seems to get on YouTube, hahaha, because I remember when it was like the most neglected of Disney movies. xDDD There's a Hercules video done to "Stand Out" (omg I love that song) and there's even a PotC video done to "On the Open Road"!!! PRETTY AWESOME!!! XDDD

Why is the Rum Gone? Remix
I watched this expecting it to be like the I've Got a Jar of Dirt Remix, which I have never been able to listen to all the way through because it drives me insane. >_O;; So I am glad to report that this one is much more awesome and even my PotC-hating brother liked it so much that he spent the next day going around the house shouting, "That's not good enough!" xD (Hahaha, when we were watching it he was like, "It sounds like Will's getting angrier every time, but you know that's not true!" xD xD; ) So please watch it and love it and send me all the awesome (AWEsome?) PotC videos you find because I devour them like candy. :X

((Oh man that reminds me! My brother's (nick)name is Will and my favourite character in my favourite trilogy is named Will. Okay, whatever. But one of my brother's favourite movies is Requiem for a Dream and one of the main characters in that is named Sara!! Either we just have two way common names, or this is some bizarre sibling psychology at work. xDD ))
arisha: (al/jas otp!!!1!)
So I haven't posted in two weeks which is kind of funny because for once things have actually been happening around here! xD On Thursday the second, I went to the very last showing of PotC3 at the theatre where I work (and enjoyed it ridiculously), and I was going to write a huge big long ridiculous entry about that but then I was distracted by the fact that my brother's girlfriend had been in a car accident while I was gone!! haha wow!! She's okay, obviously, otherwise the tone in which I tell this news would be rather more somber. ^^; Then I guess nothing much happened for a while ... a little old lady told me she thinks the Harry Potter series are simply wonderful, we got a new computer which I am still kind of hating on, we watched Memento in my film class and I thought it was totally awesome, [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I watched three Disney movies in one afternoon and then we did the same thing a couple days later (and I was going to write a big long entry about The Lion King but got lazy), I went to Calgary for four days and hung out with my family and betaraider (haha betaraider asked me if I am still in Disneyland withdrawal hahaha well yes I am and it hurts!), [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I watched two Disney movies in one afternoon (and I am such a Hercules fangirl right now, oh man that movie), my dad joined Facebook just out of pure curiosity ... and I guess that about sums it up, really. xD I'm going to hate myself in the future for skipping over all the details of all of this but at the moment I don't really feel like writing a huge long entry about all of this and you guys probably don't feel like reading it, so that's just too bad for my future self. xD;;;;

I realized today that as I grow older, the reading level of the books I own seems to grow younger. Having run out of PotC artbooks to buy, today I bought two PotC books that I'm pretty sure were intended for grade schoolers. xD;; One of these is The Pirate's Code Guidelines by one Joshamee Gibbs! xD;;;; The idea behind this book is total hilarity to me - Mr. Gibbs wrote a book on the Code, then years later went back through his copy and filled the margins with handwritten notes, then years later this copy was discovered on the wreckage of the Titanic! Oh Disney, you never fail to amuse. xDDD PotC3 spoilers )

hahaha ANYWAY what I was going to say there was that I hope the fact that I finally ordered myself a copy of Ovid's Metamorphoses will make up for my growing collection of books that are really way too young for me. XD

I am feeling very obsessed with my novel today. o_o I am sorta kinda in the process of rewriting one of the very first arcs I wrote for it, which is fun and interesting but at the same time kind of frustrating, because a lot of what I had before is now in total conflict with the rules of the world, and I have to fix all of that. Well, oh well, I do enjoy it, and I do like going back and making scenes better. :)

And this icon totally makes me laugh. XD; My favourite thing about Al and Jas is my theory that nobody else would be able to stand being with either of them. XD Al is always all "zomg I suck!!1!" and Jas has that irrational anger thing ... I mean, who would put up with all of that but each other? XD That is why they are OTP!!11!#!#!1hahaha I am so amused~ xD

PS: This is entry #999! hahaha wow, I can't believe the internets have put up with me for that long! XD
arisha: (potc2 lolz! XD)
I watched Dead Man's Chest in Japanese dub for the second time today, and so perhaps it is fitting that I then came across a clip on YouTube that features the Pirates actors and creators attempting to speak Japanese at the Tokyo premiere of PotC3 (in the Budokan? oh man, that totally means that these guys are standing on the same stage that MoMusu has stood on xD ). Bill and Geoffrey read off a sheet, Johnny and Chow totally cop out, Jerry speaks from memory but isn't very interesting to watch, but oh man, Orlando and Gore totally had me falling out of my chair. XD XD XD GORE IS TOTALLY READING OFF HIS HAND AND HE STILL MANAGES TO SAY COMPLETE NONSENSE, oh man, these guys, I love them way too much. XD XD XD

In news that has nothing to do with fangirling, my brother graduated high school on Thursday. :) I was going to write a big entry about it but the desire to do so has since subsided. Blah blah blah, [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and I watched the ceremony on a soundless TV in the lobby of the University Centre, and the picture was so zoomed out that we weren't even 100% sure that the person we thought was my brother was actually him. (Turned out that it was. :D ) Blah blah blah, it was raining really hard, we went for a quick walk during the valedictorian's speech and got soaked. Blah blah blah, my brother skipped the grad party in favour of playing DDR with his sister and his girlfriend. It was an awesome two hours. xD So I found it to be an enjoyable evening, hahaha, as if my opinion here really matters. ;D After the ceremony my brother let me hug him and I came very close to tearing up, I don't even know why. ^^; Anyway, I am bitter that my dad seems not to have kept the pictures of me and [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron ... I hate when my family members don't keep pictures for whatever reason. I seriously keep all my pictures, even ones I took just to start the roll of film. :P

Also, the preview of MoMusu's new single is out (ZOMG FINALLY), and though it's no "Kanashimi Twilight," I do quite like "Onna ni Sachi Are." :)

Edit: I FORGOT TO MENTION! XD 「あぁ、だめ!倒れる!」is an infinitely better line than, "Ah! The heat!" XD XD XD XD XD XD
arisha: (reina cool)
If I am going to post another PotC3 entry, and we all know that I am, I feel obligated to write about real life stuff first, y'know, to give this entry some sort of merit. But there is not much to talk about! Read more... )

That's enough real life stuff now, right? XD I'm allowed to go all fangirl again now, right? XD XD XD

more AWEsomeness (with spoilers!) )

And I would tell you that this is going to be the last entry I write on PotC3 ... but it would taste a lie! XD el oh el oh el. <3
arisha: (potc3 success!)
1) RABBITS RABBITS!!!!

2) [livejournal.com profile] athena_crikey has posted FOUR TIMES since I last posted. I obviously need to step it up.

3) Morning Musume is killing me with its scandaliciousness. KILLING ME.

4) How are we supposed to wait two years for the opening of this Harry Potter theme park? They should've just built it in secret and then told us about it. I can't wait two whole years for the chance to say, "Well, it's good, but it's not as good as Disneyland!!" ... el oh el oh el.

5) My copy of the PotC3 soundtrack arrived today and I'm going to see it again this evening~~ :D (I can't believe it's only been a week since I saw it, it feels like so~~~ much longer~~~~.) And I am almost finished playing the tie-in video game, not because I have mad skillz but because it is crazy short!! My dad today was talking about how my PotC craziness and how it seems off to him that people who are making $8 an hour (=me) spend all their money on PotC goods that will make the people behind PotC even richer than they already are. Hahaha, and he doesn't even know about my all-PotC Amazon.ca order that should ship out today ... XD XD XD XD

6) I finally got around to getting myself a copy of The Little Mermaid on DVD and proceeded to go through a mini-obsession with it, which I totally was not expecting! I hadn't seen the movie in ten years, why would I care that much about it? But man! It's so interesting! And the documentary? And the ride? OH MAN THAT RIDE!! I have also decided that "Poor Unfortunate Souls" is one of my favourite animated Disney sequences. It's so good! And I never before really agreed with everyone who sung the praises of Howard Ashman, but listening to some of those songs again, wow. If you actually listen to the words that are in his lyrics, it is amazing that they can be sung and sound good. And I feel like I am getting really crotchety in my old age about song lyrics. I am actually ridiculously critical of the songs I hear on the radio. Which is why I never listen to the radio. XD

7) Sorry this entry is a JOKE. XD
arisha: (potc3 success!)
My tomorrow:

- Class from nine till noon. Today was a discussion day and we talked about the hero's journey, which was pretty interesting but the lecture could definitely have been more structured. Tomorrow we're starting another batch of movies with Blue Velvet, which my mother tells me is "kinky." So I guess afterwards I might be emotionally scarred. Cool.

- A five-hour gap in which I will probably do nothing more than go STIR CRAZY. Someone give me a suggestion of something to do here, lest I implode!

- First training shift from five till seven-thirty. :) I am rather looking forward to this which I hope doesn't turn out to be a mistake. I bought our PotC3 tickets online like a week ago but went to pick them up today, where I was asked, "Are you coming to training tomorrow?" HAHAHA I love it, they know me already. XD XD XD;;

- A half-hour gap in which I hope to be successful in my search for [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron and [livejournal.com profile] athena_crikey and the seat they will hopefully be able to save for me.

- At eight o'clock, PIRATES!!!! I can't even tell you how great I think it is that the TV spots don't use the movie's full title, hahaha. For PotC2 as well, they just said "Pirates," and I think that's fantastic, that they're so sure everyone already knows what they're talking about and is already totally excited for it and everything. XD And I can't write any more here because I will totally ramble. XD

- And after that, who knows! I have Friday 100% off so hopefully I will be productive, hahaha, and hopefully I will be able to resist the temptation to go see PotC3 again immediately, because I'm sure such a temptation will be there. XD

- This is a little unrelated, but I am waiting for a package from Amazon.co.jp, and they changed their shipping so now it's all fancy pants and someone has to be home to sign for it. I was checking the tracking page for it and was pleasantly surprised to see that in just three days it's already come so far (usually I use the cheapest shipping possible and wait two weeks) - its latest location is listed as "Richmond, BC." But then I was a little confused, because beside that name is a note about how delivery was attempted today but no one was home. Uh, I hope they're not actually trying to deliver it in Richmond, that would be kind of messed up. ^^;; Probably it's nothing to worry about though. And this is a stupid story, but I realized while at the mall with my brother on Monday (to buy the PotC version of the Game of Life, booyeah!!) that I have become so accustomed to ordering online that the idea of going out and buying something and getting to open it right away now feels totally foreign to me. The whole time I was setting the game up, I kept feeling like I was about to get into trouble for taking it and not waiting two weeks to open it ... or ... something. Haha. I love shopping online, though, even if it takes longer for the items to arrive. I am just not the sort of person who often likes to go out and SHOP. :P

- Totally unrelated, but today we got a thank you card from one of my cousins for the wedding gift we sent her and her new husband. But her husband has the same name as one of my other cousins, and it seriously took me like five minutes to figure out whether it was the bride or the groom that I was supposed to be recognizing in the picture. Is how well I know my maternal cousins, basically. :P One thing that amuses me is that, as far as I can figure, my maternal cousins have gotten married in order of age (save for one whom my mother suspects is gay). If this is right, then next in line is a cousin who is eight days older than me, and then it'll be my turn! And I just think this is so hilarious. Because I'm obviously not getting married any time soon? I don't know, hahaha. Anyway, I still think it would be fantastic good fun to crash a wedding on my mom's side. Because it would probably take them just as long to recognize me as it does for me to recognize them. This amuses me so much.

That was a terrible note on which to end an entry! But oh well, it'll have to do! XD XD

To start, today I searched for Jack Benny clips on YouTube and to my surprise, the search was actually successful!! (I feel like a HUGE DORK whenever I mention my adoration for this guy. It makes me feel rather removed from my generation.) And to add to the surprise, one of the clips I found is of Mr. Benny and Walt Disney! I'm guessing this is from The Jack Benny Show - basically, Jack is way stingy and is trying to see if he can get himself and 110 friends of his into Disneyland for free. Not the most hilarious clip I've ever seen, but awesome just the same. XD

In actual news, today was pretty productive in comparison to the rest of my lazy week. XD Film class, dentist, work stuff, TV, bloody pirates!! )

I <3 YouTube. It is only through YouTube that tonight I may present to you two PotC2 scenes dubbed in Japanese: "Curiosity" and Elizabeth kisses Jack. Oh man, it is at times like this that I wish I hadn't watched the movie so much. I watch these and feel like I understand everything they say but do I really? Or do I just think that I do because I have the scenes practically memorized anyway?

And now of course I want to buy the Japanese DVD so I can watch the whole thing in Japanese dub. Because that would be the BEST THING EVER. But when I told [livejournal.com profile] leaf_green that I own PoA in Japanese dub, she made fun of me! :( So if I do buy it I shall have to keep it a secret. XD

Other fun YouTube finds tonight include:
- Disney Time: a clip of former MoMusu member Tsuji Nozomi and three other celebrities (I assume??) in the Little Mermaid area of Tokyo Disney Sea. In the middle they meet Ariel and it is the most adorable thing. I knew that Westerners are often hired to play characters in the Tokyo Disney parks, just because of their looks I guess, but this Ariel doesn't even speak to them in Japanese, which I found surprising! Man, I feel like I could do an entire Master's on Tokyo Disneyland and how it relates to both Japanese and Western culture ... Right now I feel like I have all these questions about it and there is no resource to answer them for me. :(

- Remember those Mentos commercials with the ridiculous problems, equally ridiculous solutions, and fantastic cheesiness? Here is the Aladdin version of those Mentos commercials. And I know I've got quite a strong bias here, but this is pretty well the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life.

- Whose Line is it Anyway? - Greatest Hits: Sci-Fi, because I can no longer link YouTube videos without linking a Whose Line clip. XD Greatest Hits was always one of my favourite games, and this one has the added bonus of Colin and his talented dancing. XD XD XD XD

- Okay, I didn't find this one tonight, but I've been meaning to share it because it kind of blows my mind. Morning Musume's "As For One Day" mixed with Limp Bizkit's "Take a Look Around." I don't think the chorus is the best match, but the rest of it is so awesome. <3 There's also Morning Musume's "Shabondama" mixed with Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" - I don't think that one works quite as well, but c'mon, isn't just the very idea of it absolutely fantastic? XD

Today is my last day of classes and even though I only woke up half an hour ago, so far it rocks! :D Hello! Project, job hunting, and old friends :) )

Anyway I better go and actually get ready for school, especially as I had a dream last night where I was hours late to my first class, which today is only going to be like five minutes long, so being hours late would be even more offensive than usual! XD;

I hate working on my résumé, it makes me feel so inferior. I haven't updated it since the summer after first year, and back then I felt justified in filling it with the awards I received in high school and using my high school teachers as references and pimping the measly volunteer work I did in high school ... Now that I'm in third year, I feel like maybe those things don't really count anymore, and so I'm going through and taking stuff out, and now it looks so wimpy. :( Hopefully the fact that I survived fast food for almost a year and a half will make up for that. Right? And my manager from said fast food job said I could use her as a reference, so that makes me feel really encouraged. (Haha, I asked if I could use her as a reference right after I told her I'd bought a present for her daughter, so it wasn't like she could say no! XD I think this is a good tactic. I'll have to keep it in mind for any future requests I get nervous about. XD )

Oh, haha, why did I write that I know HTML? I was only applying in fast food, hahaha, I think I was kind of desperate for skills ... dear me.

This is a really loser post but I don't really have anything else to say. I went through all my papers from my month in Winnipeg and threw out a good chunk. It made me really nostalgic for SLP though. :( Today I got rid of some posters I know I'll never hang up. (I feel I must make a note that none of the posters I rid myself of were given to me by [livejournal.com profile] the_wykydtron. Just so we're clear, haha.) This is hilarious - you remember that movie A Kid in King Arthur's Court? I went with my dad to see an early showing of this movie and I guess there we were given free posters or something, because I found two of them in one of my poster tubes. This is hilarious!! I was thinking about that movie the other day, actually, because I remember watching that movie and being totally fascinated by it, and then all of a sudden there was a villain, and I remember being TOTALLY disappointed. I did not want there to be a villain in this movie, I already thought it was perfect as it was. (We have a copy of this movie but I haven't watched it in forever. I kind of don't want to destroy the truly positive opinion I have of this movie. I may have loved it in elementary school, but who knows how corny I'll think it is now?) Looking back on that I think it's great, because I don't know if you've noticed, but none of the stories I write ever have villains in them. I thought this was a recent development but apparently not as much as I had thought! Villains are boring! Internal conflict is much, much better. XD

All righty, back to the résumé ... x_x;
