NaNo2010: Day Three!
Nov. 4th, 2010 12:57 amSo I failed to write anything yesterday but as I had already written double what I needed to on Day One it wasn't as big a failure as it could have been! Today between volunteering and work I wrote 1,210 words of a scene that was pretty much just a rewrite of a scene I wrote for the first time during NaNo 2007, but it's so much better now! When I was first introduced to the idea of rewriting scenes I thought it sounded like such a pain, but now I am in love with it! I love when you realize a way you can make a scene better, it's awesome.
So yeah, somehow I'm managing to keep up with my daily word count, despite the fact that I've only actually broken word count on one day so far. xD Oh well, I'm stoked that I haven't fallen behind yet! And I have a ton of ideas for scenes to write and I have tomorrow evening completely free for working on at least one or two of them. This is so much better than my previous NaNo attempts with this plot, where I had like five scenes and once I wrote them my inspiration was exhausted. I don't know what's changed but I'm glad it did!!
If this entry makes no sense it is because I'm pretty tired haha. I got up five hours earlier than usual this morning and went a-volunteerin', and now after listening to five presentations about it I'm pretty sure I know all I'll ever need to know about Ryan's Well! And then I made myself write instead of taking a nap in the hopes that I'll fall asleep faster tonight because I have to get up even earlier for my volunteering tomorrow! The class today was pretty fun, though. It was the highest level class (whereas my usual class is the lowest level), so it was interesting even just to be in an ESL class where the teacher talks at a normal pace and can even crack jokes, even if they're as silly as "You don't have a partner? Okay, you can go home." I think so far the biggest laughs I've heard in the lower level class have been the result of someone saying "he" when they meant to say "she" or vice versa. (Which happens a lot more than I would've thought!! Usually from the students whose native languages don't require such a frequent use of pronouns. So it makes sense I guess, but I had never thought about it before!)
I feel like the above isn't really a proper ending to an entry but that's too bad. Good night!!
