I would very much appreciate it if someone could tell Alfred Kazin that his introduction to Uncle Tom's Cabin would be greatly improved by the removal of the many spoilers. I don't even have to read this book anymore, because the introduction has told me all that happens! Geeeeeeeze. ¬¬;;

Ah, but even knowing the ending, don't you still want to see just how it goes down. Although, starting a piece of art in media res, has its appeal, casting expectation on the reader can have just as many exciting twists and turns.
