So according to one of my co-worker's postings on Facebook, this morning (Wednesday) at 7:30am the first people started camping outside our theatre in preparation for the midnight screening of the new Harry Potter tomorrow night (Thursday).

... oh my god.

By the way: Disney, why are you opening your latest movie on the one and only weekend where it is GUARANTEED TO FAIL????

Oh man, on a related note, our company is opening a new theatre in the area, and they open on Friday with seven theatres, FIVE of which will be showing Harry Potter. They'll only have three other movies and two of them are sharing a theatre!! AND ALL OF THEIR STAFF WILL BE BRAND NEW omggggggggg I am so not jealous of them you have no idea.

Edit: Just got a message from one of the assistant managers who left our theatre in order to help open the new one. Apparently she has regularly been working 10-hour shifts and coming up she has a 10am-1:30am shift. THE NOT BEING JEALOUS CONTINUES.

Also, their other assistant manager called our theatre during a rush on Tuesday night to ask if they could have 5,000 of our regular popcorn bags. To which my manager replied, "Are you popping popcorn tonight? No? Then ORDER YOUR OWN SUPPLIES!" hahahahahaha.

I know no one else cares about this stuff but I feel like I haven't posted about work in a while so there you go!

Man, I think everyone I know back home is going to the midnight showing... and I'm planning to stroll on over on Sunday. XD

That sounds like it would definitely not be fun at all!

Wait, Disney has a new movie? They *just* released Tangled!

lol, Tangled came out in November! Next up is Winnie the Pooh which I don't think had very many of the same staff, so. During everyone's favourite years of the Disney Renaissance they used to release a movie a year, it seems stranger to me that they haven't been doing that lately ... :(

And yeah, I'm not going to the midnight show either. :p

You will, I think, agree that November to July is only 8 months, and 8 months is less than 12. :p Also, I *did* hear about Pooh, I just had no idea it was due out so soon. How do we feel about it?

I'm not even sure they *do* midnight showings in Japan. At least, everybody always seems weirded out when I explain it to them. XD

I meant a calendar year. :P

I'm not super thrilled that Disney is putting out a sequel for their 51st animated film ... but I guess if they want to make a hand drawn film that will make a lot of money, drawing on a very popular franchise is the way to do it. (Releasing the same weekend as Harry Potter, not so much.) tbh at first I was barely interested in the movie, but then I saw an ad that showed a bunch of my favourite animators working on it and so yeah. xD Also, my co-workers who have seen it said that it's super cute and funny and they liked it better than the new Harry Potter!!!! So I hope to see it soon. :)

Oh. Well, fine. :p

Yeah, I was skeptical, but I've heard good things since then; I will probably give it a try! :D
