Just broke 25k on my NaNo2010, so according to my NaNo2006 schedule I am two days ahead! Which feels pretty awesome even though I'm still behind where I should be, haha. Now to get this JET app out of the way (hopefully mailing it off tomorrow? with thanks to everyone who suffered through my SoP!!) so I can focus on winning!

Non-JET plans for tomorrow: last ESL class of the semester :( then hopefully writing a scene I can use for an excerpt! I haven't posted a single excerpt this year and it's kind of giving me pains, but apparently I am really self-conscious about the idea that my co-workers might read my awful first draft writing, who knew?!

In other Disney news, my dream game Epic Mickey comes out on Tuesday and I'm planning on buying it as my prize for winning NaNoWriMo. :D (And then playing it straight through the week and never ever studying for the JLPT again, apparently!) My brother has informed me that it's been receiving lackluster reviews, but I just don't see how a game that makes such wonderful things could be bad. Maybe these reviewers are just not in the target audience of people who a) freak out every time they see Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and b) try to reference at least one Disney movie in every LJ entry they write. I mean, I dunno, but maybe!

I don't think Tangled is out here yet? I mean, yeah, Harry Potter came out on time, but a lot of other things are, like, six months behind. Pretty sure Night and Day is still in the theaters...

Statement of Purpose! xP haha. My app is now all packaged up and waiting for me and mom to take it to the post office. I have enlisted her to help me figure out how to get this thing to Ottawa by Tuesday. :d

You should go see both of these awesome new movies in Japanese so that I can be jealous of you!! xD Also yeah, Night and Day is pretty old~

Epic Mickey is an epic game whose plotline I can't actually remember past Mickey mixes everything Disney all together and the levels are based on area of Disney parks and old cartoons and OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT IS IN IT and I am just very excited just by the fact that it exists. :D

I went and saw Harry Potter! But I saw it in English, with Japanese subtitles, and then pretty much entirely ignored the subtitles, except for the parts with parseltongue in which they switched out English subs for Japanese, and then I read them. It was pretty good!

Turns out Night and Day is not still there, but it was there about a month ago, so. ^^;

Hehehe. I am happy that you're happy? I don't know who Oswald is though, ngl. ^^;

I was confused by this line of yours until I realized why. In the non-subbed English version of Deathly Hallows, the Parseltongue doesn't get subtitled! At all!! So I wonder what they had it saying in Japanese. xD This reminds me of the Japanese dub of Dead Man's Chest, where they dubbed every single line into Japanese, even the ones that in the English version were not in English (eg. the dude in the rowboat who speaks French). Hilarious!!

And Oswald was Mickey Mouse's predecessor, basically. He was the star of Disney's early black and white and silent shorts until Disney was sorta betrayed and ended up losing the rights to the character. So Mickey was only created because Disney couldn't use Oswald anymore, and they only recently got the rights to him back. Super interesting~~~ to me. :D

In the non-subbed English version of Deathly Hallows, the Parseltongue doesn't get subtitled! Man, so typical! They subbed the bits of German and French in Inglourious Basterds as well, which I always felt was cheating. I didn't catch the first part, because I wasn't paying attention, but I'm pretty sure it was basically "Do you speak Parseltongue?"; "Yes." And then she said, "I'll show (it to) you. Over there. -->" And then (SPOILERS XD) she turned into a snake, etc., etc. Not so exciting, Japan, why can't you just live in ignorance like the rest of us? >.>

I... actually feel like I had heard something about that before? I didn't know the character's name or anything, though. And it's pretty interesting to me too. :D
