So my bed just spent a second moving about on its own, and thank goodness for the Earthquakes Canada web site or I would still be freaking out about it!

Saturday, Feb. 20, 2:05 am, earthquake, preliminary magnitude 2.7, located about 20km southeast of Victoria, BC. Lightly felt in Victoria, BC.

It's nice to have confirmation of these things, lol. I am secretly hoping that I was the first to send in a report saying that I felt it - my response to At this time there are no reports of this earthquake being felt was pretty much WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I FELT IT AND I'VE BEEN FREAKING OUT FOR TEN MINUTES DON'T IGNORE MEEEEEEEEEE

Oh, the joys of being the only one awake at two in the morning.

Omg. D: I would of freaked out too. I think we've had one little one here before-but I never felt it. When my Grandmother and Aunt lived up here they were sitting on their front porch and it started shaking. O_O

I hope more people reported it! :O

My only previous earthquake experience (that I haven't slept through) happened when I was sitting in my grade nine math class, and suddenly my desk was moving as if it was floating on top of some ocean waves. D: Uuugh I hate earthquakes~~

I think other people reported it, and I found out that a couple of my co-workers were awake to feel it!

Seriously, it has taken me about ten minutes to figure out that there was an earthquake, every time. It's like I can't actually absorb the idea that they're possible. (Pretty sure we didn't have one the entire time I was living in Van?) Fun times, though!

MAN I KNOW

Our house actually shakes a little anyway when someone closes the front door, so my first thought was that my brother had gone out. When I saw that he was asleep in his room, my next thought was OH GOD THERE'S SOMEONE IN THE HOUSE. It took me way too long to realize that my bed doesn't usually shake when the front door closes. Augh, way too stressful. D:

Yeah, my apartment totally shakes a little bit when trucks and stuff rumble by on the road, so I spend all my time wondering if I'm in a 1.something earthquake.

I was especially confused the first time because it came just a couple days after a thunderstorm which made the windows rattle. I was sitting there, with my couch vibrating, waiting for the windows to rattle, only to realize that they don't during earthquakes? D:
