So I just signed up for the Continuing Studies Korean class, because I am insane and apparently I like to pretend I don't already have two languages on the go. xDD But oh man I am excited!! Studying languages is the best. :DD

So to sum up: a month from now, I will have an MJ class on Wednesday nights and a Korean class on Thursday nights, and I'm pretty sure you are jealoussssss. xD

SO jealous (teach me all you know)

You are pretty crazy, but at least you'll be able to travel to more places! I am vaguely planning to go to South Korea on Golden Week (if I can get anybody to come with me), and I am nervous about not speaking the lingo~

Yeah, I remember when Athena was planning on a short trip to Korea and I was a little bit surprised because, to my knowledge, her knowledge of Korean is about the same as mine. Just because I am a language nerd, I feel like I wouldn't want to visit a country where I knew nothing of the local language. But I'm sure it's possible! I hope you can find someone to go with you. Or go by yourself and have an epic adventure!! xD xD

I think I'll probably look up Hello, thank you, how much and that sort of thing beforehand, but I worry about not being able to read signs. Reading is important! ^^;;

But I will do my best to go! I mean, South Korea is so close to Japan, it would be ridiculous not to. XD

I was worried about it, but I know a lot of people who went and knew none and had no problems (KK is very close to Korea). I think you should be able to get by in Japanese or English (I'd try English first, though, since I've heard some interesting stories along the lines of "do we look Japanese to you?" ^^;;)

IN SUMMARY: I HOPE YOU GO AND HAVE FUN! ALL MY INTERNATIONAL TRAVELLING WAS THWARTED BY ARMED CONFLICT.

Well, I wouldn't say quite common or no problems, but they managed and enjoyed it. My Japanese teacher (who knows no Korean) told a story about trying to buy doughnuts and ordering in English and, when the girl was just confused, tried Japanese and that worked fine. So, yeah, I think you should be able to survive between the two.

I KNOW. The only country I was really interested in was Thailand, and then they were all HAHA, ARMED UPRISING! And then I was all ... well, I guess I'll go to Korea, and then N.K was all WE'RE GOING TO NUKE YOU and then I was all ...screw it, I'll just go to China, and China was all YES, ARMED PROTESTS so I just stayed home and did nothing instead.

I have actually been somewhere where I didn't speak the language before (i.e. Italy), but at least there I had a chance of sounding out what stuff said. *settles in to learn Korean writing* But yeah, sounds like it should work okay. ^^

Ahahaha, bad luck for you! *jinxes self*
