Okay I know I said I wouldn't talk about this again for another two years, but then you guys made the mistake of commenting, so ... xD
Recap: I sponsor several children through Children International.
· Today was Ma. Fe's eleventh birthday! :D (As well as EVERYONE ELSE'S, as I learned from my ex-co-worker, the UVic Centre cafeteria lady, a current co-worker, and the number of birthday coupons we got at work today. o_O; ) A couple weeks ago I received a letter letting me know that for her present she got to pick out a new outfit. :)
· At the start of December I sent a "special gift" (basically just an extra donation) for Mercy and her family, and today I received a letter and some photos letting me know what was bought with it. :)
(If you have complaints about the quality of these pictures (hosted by Photobucket), please know it's most likely because of my bad scanning and Photoshopping skillz. The actual photos look just fine.)

New backpack! :D

New clothes! New shoes! A box of socks!

New coat!

New skirt!
The official description of what was bought: The child has a new bag to use at school as well as a new pair of school shoes to wear. She also has enough clothes to help her look smart.
Also included is a letter from Mercy herself, and on the back she coloured in a picture of a rhino running underneath the word "Zambia." MAN, now I'm all jealous, because the animals representing Canada that I had to colour when I was younger were never half as cool as a RHINOCEROUS!!! xDDD
But now I'm all worried because according to the CI web site, there is some intense flooding going on in Zambia right now, and apparently their community centre in Lusaka, which I am assuming is the building seen in the pictures above, is all flooded too. :(
· Uhm I made a Lift One page the other night. Uhm 'cause I was bored. ^^; I wrote it at like three in the morning so it's all disjointed and actually kinda bitter in places, haha. (And not even all that new or original! hahaha. You may recall my ticket prices rant from a couple months ago. ^^; ) And then afterwards I was looking at other Lift One pages and was like, wow, nobody else changed the default text at all, what's wrong with me that I had to go and write all that. ^^;; (Well, that's not fair, I just found this page and this page which were both re-written pretty well. x) )
UHM BUT ANYWAY what's neat about this I think is that if you decide you want to sponsor a child, and you decide you want to do it through CI, then if you go through the link on my page it'll make my little thermometer thingy move up a little. xD Well please don't feel like I am all pushing you guys to do this or whatever. I mean, well, the Lift One page is in your face a bit because that's what the purpose of such a page is. But feel free to completely ignore these posts of mine if you want. OR WHATEVZ.
BAH this is two posts in a row that I feel all embarrassed about. x))))

To be honest, I am a little dismayed that the comments on that clip are all "Oh hahaha he's so funny" instead of "Oh dang. He's right.")
