Oh man it is four-thirty in the morning and I am not tired or sleepy at all. D: Attempting to get my sleeping schedule back in order is very difficult when I only have afternoon classes, work until midnight, never want to go to bed, never want to get out of bed ...

Today was the first day for Cloverfield and 27 Dresses, which both quickly sold out, even though my co-workers tell me they are rather mediocre movies. We sold three thousand tickets in total today, making it the busiest night since August. It's so funny to me, haha, because I started working at the theatre just in time for summer blockbusters, so these kind of insanely busy nights are what I was trained on! So on busy weekend nights I always feel less like "OMG THE LINE IS OUT THE DOOR SIX PEOPLE ARE TALKING TO ME AT ONCE A GUEST RAN OFF WITH MY PEN AND NOBODY BELIEVES ME WHEN I TELL THEM A MOVIE'S SOLD OUT" and more like "Aaaaah, I remember this~." xD;

On such busy nights when a certain manager is working, he will sometimes sneak into box office and say very quietly, so only the box girls can hear, "Feel free to be terse." xD; By which he mostly means that if a guest gets to the front of the line but still has no idea what movie they are going to, we are to tell them to come back when they are ready. I was kinda amused because as I was leaving tonight, he was talking about this, and he was all, "You guys in box, you could never be rude to a guest. You might think you're being rude, but you never are, you're just too nice." HAHAHA I think this is awesome because there were definitely moments tonight where I felt I was being rude. xD; Well, not RUDE rude, but definitely not super polite, haha. Like I had a number of customers come to the side of box office (I was on one of the side tills tonight - being on the side on a busy night is like a CURSE) and I could see they were holding the pages one prints off when one buys movie tickets online, and so if you had been watching me I'm sure you would have seen a number of exchanges like this:

Guest: "Hi, uhm, where do I--?"
Sarah: *grabbing pages* "Sure, I'll just print those out for you here! :D"

Or OHMYGOD some people take FOREVER to explain what they want. If you want a refund, please just ask for one! It is a busy night, lots of people are swapping or getting refunds, I am happy to do it just please don't make me listen to your sob story!!!

Guest: "Hi, uhm, my husband bought these tickets and--"
Sarah: "Do you need a refund? :D"

Okay I feel bad because maybe that last one actually is rude but please keep in mind I honestly did have like six people talking to me at once all night, I don't have time for an exposition dump!!!

Oh, and my least favourite customer of the night! I really feel like I have no right to complain about any customers at the theatre ever, because compared to customers at my previous jobs they are usually lovely lovely people, but nonetheless I still occasionally get a little annoyed.

So it is between sets (~8:00pm) and the lobby is pretty empty (although I actually got a steady stream of customers during this time! usually it's just DEAD). This guest bursts through the doors and RUNS to box office.

Guest: "I think we're just five minutes late for Juno!"
Sarah: *confused* "... For the 6:50?"
Guest: "No, the 8:02." (hahaha what the heck kind of time is 8:02)
Sarah: "We have a 6:50 and a 9:40 tonight."
Guest: "But we drove all the way across town!"

OH WELL THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!
