Oh, and playing SNES games was pretty awesome awesome awesome, too. XD Athena, have you gotten past the third level yet? Or are you too busy working on FFXII plot?? XD XD Hahaha, I felt kind of bad today, because everyone I saw asked how Vancouver was, and I was like oh yeah, it was awesome, and they were like, what did you do?, and I was like, PLAYED VIDEO GAMES AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. XD XD XD XD XD XD XD
And then, uh, I came home and played video games. XD My brother actually agreed to play Legend of Jack Sparrow with me and we got past the part I got stuck at! And now we're stuck at a new part. IN CHINA!!!!! XD XD XD XD Over the weekend my brother got a new video game and I'm too lazy to look up the name but anyway he plays this guy from Sparta and I guess there are parts with Troy and now for whatever reason his weapon is Achilles' spear. OH! And he told me that when he went to Troy he opened up the Trojan Horse and then UNDEAD SKELETONS came out of it!!!! Hahahaha!! This reminds me of this sci-fi Trojan War retelling I once read, The Shattered Horse, which is way darker a novel than you'd ever imagine me reading, but it's interesting because the premise is that Astyanax didn't die as a child and now he's going around piecing together his past ... or something ... I forget ... but anyway!! At the end, all the dead heroes who died in the war come back as ZOMBIES and it's AWESOME!!!! Hahahahaha~~!! When I look back on this book (I read it when I was fourteen, wow, long time ago), I'm like, what the heck! How does such a whacked-out book even get written? But at the same time there are some parts that I really like. The "But I'm not strong like you, Electra" part, and the part where Astyanax realizes Helen never told Paris she loved him ... I dunno, I find stuff like that really interesting.
And now I want to read this whacked-out book again. :X
Okay how did I even start talking about the Trojan War. I meant to talk about Escaflowne. XD Last night after the PotC goodness I watched the Esca PlayStation footage that's included as an extra on the eighth DVD. And of course now I really want to play this game, hahahahaha. XD It looked really complicated! Two new characters? Everyone randomly being transported to Tokyo and then randomly being transported back again? MAN THAT PART WAS AWESOME. XD And the two different endings, hahaha, both of which completely destroyed any moment that Van and Hitomi could have otherwise had there, hahahahaha. XD Like you're about to get a cute little romantic moment but then Merle runs into the clearing, followed by every character in the series ever, hahahahaha. "Hey Hitomi, Chid came to say good-bye!" WHAT WHY! hahahahaha. XD I got a total kick out of this scene. They all said good-bye to Hitomi and then as she was floating away they all said good-bye to her again, hahahaha, and the best part was when Van shouted, "SAYONARA, HITOMIIIIIIII!!!!" HAHAHAHAHAHA OH MAN. I hope I am not the only person who thinks he's out of character there. I like the way he's written in the final scene in Gaea; as Hitomi is taken away, he barely says anything. Which I do think is totally in character. This shouting business I'm not so sure about. XD XD XD;;;;
One last thing about Vancouver: we had intended to go shopping at the Vancouver branch of Book Off, and I was totally looking forward to blowing all my cash on used H!P DVDs to play on my new player, but alas they were closed for construction! :( So I came home and blew all my cash on new H!P DVDs, ahahaha. XD I am absolutely terrible. I am really bad at remembering concert names, haha, but I ordered Koharu's first concert with MoMusu, MoMusu's Rainbow 7 concert, and H!P's Wonderful Hearts Land. Then I ordered MoMusu's spring 2004 Best of Japan because I found it for cheap. :X I am really looking forward to Koharu's first concert because I have no idea what's on it! I know there's my favourite performance of "Last Kiss," then "Koi wa Hassou," "Chokkan," "Osaka Koi no Uta," and "Iroppoi Jirettai," but other than that I have no clue! So this is exciting. XD Don't spoil me! hahaha. XD XD The Rainbow 7 one I am looking forward to because of "Rainbow Pink" and Ai's solo "Osaka Koi no Uta," which I have rambled about before and which is the most amazing performance ever. I think I've seen about half of this concert, but I don't really remember what else it has, so that's good. XD I've seen all of Wonderful Hearts Land so I'm not as excited about that as the others, but it's still a really good concert, albeit a touch lip-synched. ;) And Best of Japan, I have no idea what is in this concert or even who is in this concert, hahaha, don't spoil me! It should be interesting. XD Probably when I pre-order Egao Yes Nude (DVD付き version, natch, hahahahaha) I'll order a couple other DVDs ... I know I have to save my money hardcore for Disneyland, but at the same time my mom decided that the allowance money I had forgotten about would pay for my flights and hotel and whatever, so now I have like a thousand dollars more than I thought I had ... ... ... so yeah. I think that even if I splurge a little on H!P DVDs it'll be okay. XD;
It's funny that my mother gets bored watching pop singers perform. Meanwhile I am like GIVE ME CONCERT DVDS PLEASE NOW PLEASE!!!! XD XD XD XD
And now to go work on my JaNo (soon to become my FebNo? ew, I don't like the look of that word), because I spent like all of last night thinking up exciting new scenes for it. XD
You didn't post on Sunday night - I was worried about you!
Date: 2007-01-30 06:52 am (UTC)I really enjoyed the trip but I don't actually have a lot to say about it.
I think that's because our only major plan was going to Book Off. But hey, we did stuff! Danielle went for walks, and you played video games, and there was DDR and anime action. And we did a lot of transit! I forgot how long it takes to get to UBC - and that three bus system is ridiculous. THE WORLD SHOULD MAKE ITSELF MORE CONVENIENT! At least we had lovely weather.
Advent Children (soooooo prettyyyyyy *_* )

Man, I just ruined any chance I have of finishing my Jano in a style similar to the one in which it began! After watching yaoi-licious Sephiroth and Cloud fight it out, I decided - against Liz's advice - to check out the Gravitation manga, and now my brain is full of PRETTY-BOY-YAOI!YAY!(whoops,non-con)MOREYAOI! And I think my Jano is going to suffer. As in, devolve into a smutty pwp cheeze-fest. SIGH.
