You can't yell at me for posting so much today because technically it is tomorrow! XD

I got BoA's "Dakishimeru" stuck in my head today for the first time in ages, and I just thought I would write to tell you about the lyric that has most surprised me in any song ever. Regretfully, I am too lazy to come up with my own translation, so these are the lines as they are written in this subbed version of the PV.

I select a pair of shoes that I wear in a busy morning
The impermanence of things in "Cinderella" represents the nature of the world

Isn't that AWESOME?? The first time I read these subs I was totally surprised. BoA, you are a pop star known for your excellent dance moves and your multiple languages! Not for tying together Buddhist teachings and Western fairy tales! That is AWESOME!!!! XD XD XD

Actually ... well ... I didn't think that the first time. I don't think I really understood it the first time. Then I read some pre-modern Japanese literature. YES THE WORLD IS IMPERMANENT WE GET IT ALREADY.

You will never learn more synonyms for "impermanent" than in a pre-modern Japanese literature class. Do you think I'm joking? XD

Me to japanese person online: "Oyasuminasai~" (good night)
Luke reading this: Orange salami? I want some orange salami..

the joys of not knowing japanese is that you can put your own interpretations on what's being said. perhaps making it even more thought provoking than it actually is. When I used to play the japanese versions of Pokemon, when they gave you the characters to put in your name, I just chose the ones that looked cool. Like, "yu" looks sort of like a fish....
