Thirty-seven thousand words in and I do believe it is time for the obligatory NaNoWriMo dream sequence. Oh yes.

Neither my 2003 nor my 2005 NaNo had dream sequences. I guess that's why they FAILED. In comparison to my winner of a NaNo 2004, which was ALL dream sequence. XD XD XD XD;;;

My NaNo 2002 had a dream sequence, though . . . I don't know what happened there. I think maybe I thought of it before but wrote it after. That would ruin the magic!

At 3:30 I checked on the status of my package but the note was from 3:48 and said "out for delivery." My package is being delivered! . . . To the future!!! XD

Axes of Evil: they're strong, not feeble!

I have a theory as to why you don't win nano every year. I suspect it is because you actually care about the quality of your writing. Your excerpt was clean and smooth - no half-finished ideas, no hanging sentences, no non-sequitors. WHAT IS WITH THAT?!? Although I suppose I *do* edit my excerpts ...

[I got all excited this morning, thinking that after I finished my essays tomorrow and handed them in on Friday, I'd still have until midnight Friday to finish nano. And then I remember that Friday was the first. Stupid November, being all short.]

Pheeble! Doofus! PHOEBUS!

I agree that in 2003 that was most certainly the case; I was already too attached to that story going in to accept it as anything less than the great image of it I had in my mind. But 2002 was the year I had surgery and the reason I didn't finish was because I couldn't sit up for two weeks, so your theory is WRONG, hohoho, I have just disproved my first theory, I should go into academics. XD

I always try to pick nice bits to put in the excerpts. I have plenty of disastrous scenes, too. And in this particular novel I have at least two scenes that start off a new storyline that never gets picked up again. XD It's kind of liberating, though. Because usually I'm all "WAUGH I CAN'T WRITE THAT WHAT IF IT'S WRONG WHAT IF I DON'T WANT IT LATER WHAT IF I FORGET TO FIX IT WAUGH" and with this novel I'm all "uh, I forget what colour her dress is, I'll just make it blue" and all "what was that guy's name again? aw, who cares. he's Jim now." It's like, wow! I actually have faith that I'll remember to fix all this later! It's nice and heartwarming. Hearts! <3 <3 <3 <3

I KNOW, I keep thinking it goes until Friday, too. I think just because Friday is like, the day I'll finally be free of schoolwork (for an afternoon), and so I think that should be the day to end NaNoWriMo as well. Alas, it was not to be!

Anyway, 7k to go, wish me luck! :) I do want to do another one in January if you guys are up for it though.

(What about this icon? More scary? Less scary? I quite like it. It is my favourite part of the "Shabondama" video and I think I made it all teenybopper homepage colours. Yes / no / maybe?)

... still strong not feeble.

Also also! Your Reina icon is scary-looking! That is a freaky picture of her, and it haunts me. If I have a bad dream tonight, I shall fault you.
