Today at the library I saw a retelling of the Odyssey that was illustrated by some guy named Troy. Probably I am just too easily amused.
I signed out a retelling of Cupid and Psyche by C.S. Lewis called Till We Have Faces. This is the first novel I have had out in such a long time! I don't know why but I've been on such a non-fiction kick for about a year and a half now. It's sort of bizarre, I never used to read non-fiction at all. Probably my writing is suffering a little bit because of all the non-fiction, but I could just as easily be making stuff up, so who knows.
One of my reading buddies today pulled a Cupid and Psyche picture book off the shelf and he didn't know how to pronounce "Psyche" (fair enough) so I told him and he was all, "Aah, like 'psychic'!" How awesome. XD He was eager to read it but the reading buddies program is to help kids read, not to give Sarah free readings of her favourite Roman myth, so I asked if the book was not a bit too easy for him (knowing full well it was, and I was only proved right when he picked out a 200-page novel to take home for the weekend). He then headed straight for the shelf containing all the Where's Waldo? books, but that's another story. _-_;;
