Hmm. Perhaps I should make a real entry here.

I wish I didn't talk about TV and J-pop in here so much, but at least I can hide it all behind a cut.

I went to see the Soup Nazi on Friday. Not being a huge fan of soup, I didn't buy any, but it took a while for my friend and I to realize that if you didn't want soup or a signature you could just sneak past the line and see the guy. So we stood in line for nothing, but s'all good. He was rather out of character! All smiling and everything. I didn't hear him yelling although it was rumoured that he did. They had the Soup Nazi episode projected on a screen behind him. I actually went to see him twice. Not for very long or anything though, just 'cause he was there. I was surprised so many people came to see him! I don't actually know that many people who watch Seinfeld, which gives me pains because everything all the time reminds me of something from Seinfeld and the only people I can share these with are my brother and my dad. How dull!

Sarah: Have you seen that Seinfeld?
Friend Who Shall Remain Anonymous: No ... ?
Sarah: "Not that there's anything wrong with that!"
FWSRA: ... Oh.
Sarah: Haven't you ever heard anyone say that?
FWSRA: What? That there's nothing wrong with me not having seen that Seinfeld?

In other television-conversation news ...

[on the way to the library, kid on the sidewalk]
Sarah: You almost hit that kid!
[on the way home, kid on the sidewalk]
Sarah: You almost hit that kid!
Mom: Listen, Mrs. Bucket ...

Ouch.

Prior to that, today in my Aspects of Japanese Culture class we had a guest lecturer who talked about the evolution of hairstyles in Japan. I didn't find it as interesting as everyone else seemed to, but anyway, at one point in the PowerPoint presentation there was a picture of Maeda Ken, and of him the lecturer said, "This is a man ... here he's impersonating a very famous singer, Matsuura Aya." HAHAHA H!P REPRESENT.

And the lecturer kept saying "black ships." AND ALL I CAN THINK OF WHEN I HEAR "BLACK SHIPS" IS TROY, OMG I AM NOT KIDDING. So here is a ridiculous peek inside of my brain--

Lecturer: In 1868, black ships arrived at Japan ...
Sarah: OR PERHAPS BEFORE TROY!
Lecturer: They're sort of the black ships of the sumo world ...
Sarah: OR PERHAPS BEFORE TROY! EH? EH?

Also, the last five minutes of the last episode of the first season of Reba -- WHAT THE HECK!! I hope very much there is no singing in the second season, which I got today, but I can't watch it yet because I have to finish watching the second season of Full House. It is funny because only this time around did I realize that perhaps the episode in which Jesse breaks both his arms is not exactly the most realistic episode in the series ...

Also also, you know you have been playing too much Kingdom Hearts when you're walking to the library and you see something shining on the ground and your first thought is "Awesome! A Trinity!"

Amadeus was on KVOS last night and I found it while flipping channels. I recognized it from a shot of a WALL, which is pretty awesome, hahaha. Much better than the time I flipped past Old Salieri and then thought, "Hmm, that looked like it might be interesting." Haha OH SNAP. Well I didn't watch it last night anyway, I watched an old silent version of The Scarlet Letter, but still.

Now that that's all done with, let's see. I voted today. I was going to talk more about my classes but I don't feel like it. I got Tarzan of the Apes out of the library. I read it when I was in eighth grade but I don't remember it very well except that I liked it even for all its strangeness. I like how sci-fi-y books from that era just do whatever they please. Well, I mean, I don't know much about them and am very much an outsider, but books like that and even Around the World in Eighty Days, where when they don't know certain things they just make them up. It reminds me of how I used to write when I was in middle school, but not in a bad way. Just like, the need for research won't stop my creativity!!! Not that I pay attention to the facts in my writing now anyway. OF COURSE JESSE WOULD BREAK BOTH HIS ARMS WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT.

Oh! I forgot! My big news is that I am twelve years old. Some lady came to the door on Saturday handing out pamphlets for the Conservatives, and when I answered the door (admittedly a rare thing) she asked, "Are your parents home?" And then today at school some guy was handing out pamphlets for the Green Party, and he totally skipped me! Most obviously so! So yeah. If you ever want to come see me, I should be easy to find, seeing as I'll be the only twelve-year-old wandering around campus ...

I have been dating all my writing since November. At some point I will get around to typing it up and I will see how much I actually write. I sort of kept a record of my word counts in summer 2004, but only sort of. It was really loose. This one will be SCIENTIFIC.

Also, I am getting really antsy re: the JLPT results. I want to know if I passed, man!! ;_;

Edit: I forgot I forgot! A week before the Soup Nazi I went to see Jack Layton (mostly for the novelty -- the most exciting bit was that we had to sneak around the side of the building and peer in the windows in order to see him), and then last night people were getting phone calls with a recording of his voice being all "vote for me!," and my grandmother totally hung up on him because her dinner was getting cold!! Hahahahahahaha MOST EXCELLENT.

Not till March, I believe. :(

This'll probably turn out like it did with Spanish AP - I waited and waited and waited and was so frantic to learn my mark, and then the day came when I could phone to find out and I forgot. ^^;
