where pirates all are well-to-do

Here, have a totally random entry before I attempt to be a diligent student and work on my French assignment. brb remembering how completely school eats up your free time~ D:
1) I started a fundraising page for my sponsored child Rocio, so please take a look if you're interested! No pressure of course, but if you like my sponsorship entries and want to help out, then there you go. :)
2) Movies!
Double Wedding, 1937
Another Myrna Loy and William Powell movie. Not their greatest, although it wasn't awful and I loved Powell's ridiculous wardrobe. And props to both actors - according to Wikipedia they were both in mourning while making this movie, but I couldn't tell at all.
The Black Swan, 1942
So I guess I had high expectations for this - it's Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara in a pirate movie based on a book by Rafael Sabatini, the guy who wrote the amazing Captain Blood!!! So I am very sad to admit that I didn't really like it. :( And I even made a crappy gif to sum up my opinion of it:

TYRONE POWER = HOT
KNOCKING OUT YOUR LOVE INTEREST AND THEN DROPPING HER ON THE FLOOR = NOT
srsly the love story in this movie is the most disturbing thing ever. TOMORROW MY BELOVED IS GOING TO MARRY ANOTHER MAN I GUESS I BETTER GO VIOLENTLY KIDNAP HER THEN SHE'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH ME AND MAYBE WE CAN END THE MOVIE WITH HER REPEATING ONE OF THE LINES I USED THAT TIME I TRIED TO RAPE HER
~*~SO ROMANTIC~*~
Tyrone Power does have his shirt off for like half of this movie though so really I don't know why I'm complaining. BRB CRUSHING ON SOMEONE WHO DIED THE YEAR MY MOM WAS BORN
In other movie news, I finally managed to download the Liar Game movie (no spoilers please!!!), and so I've been slowly rewatching the series in preparation for it. As I expected, it's rather less suspenseful the second time around, but I'm still really enjoying it. I would say it's my favourite dorama but that's pretty meaningless when I've only seen four! Anyway, since today seems to be the rare day when I am admitting this sort of thing, brb adding Liar Game's Akiyama and Tangled's Flynn to this list here hur hur hur.
3) I can't decide whether or not I want to add books I read for school to my list of books I've read this year. :P Well either way, so far those books that I've read in their entirety have been: Jane Austen's Emma (okay but rather slow; I liked it more as a historical artifact than as a novel), Amélie Nothomb's Métaphysique des tubes (which I think I like mainly because it's an easy read), Lope de Vega's Fuenteovejuna (I think the language barrier is preventing me from really understanding why this is a classic), and an unknown author's La Estrella de Sevilla, which I LOVED and very nearly wrote a huge entry about hahaha. You guys would totally want to read my ramblings on sixteenth century Spanish theatre, right?? xD
4) This bit is mainly for everyone's favourite Zombie Walker
the_wykydtron. The next time I go to Lima I shall have to try to go in December, because oh my god look at this they have a Zombie Walk:
THAT IS MY BUS AT 0:09 JSYK
There is also this video in which they all run after Santa Claus as he passes by Larcomar, hahaha omg Lima I miss you so much. xD (KID IN A "THRILLER" SHIRT AT 2:52, omg I saw so many MJ shirts in Peru it was fantastic!)
OKAY BACK TO WORK!
