1) Look up ten of your favourite movies on IMDb.
2) Click the "trivia" link in the sidebar.
3) Post a fun and random bit of trivia from each film.

I don't know if I trust all of the trivia that gets uploaded to IMDb, and I don't really feel that there are ten movies I would consider my favourites, but never mind that - let's have a go! :D

Airplane!: "Despite featuring a spoof of the beach scene of From Here to Eternity, none of the three directors had actually seen the original film."

Aladdin: "To capture the movement of Aladdin's low-cut baggy pants, animator Glen Keane looked at videos of rap star M.C. Hammer."

Amadeus: "When shooting the scene in which Salieri is writing down the death mass under Mozart's dictation, Tom Hulce was deliberately skipping lines to confuse F. Murray Abraham, in order to achieve the impression that Salieri wasn't able to fully understand the music he was dictated." (Holy crap I just realized it's been almost A YEAR since I've watched Amadeus. Whaaaaat.)

Bringing Up Baby: "David's response to Aunt Elizabeth asking him why he is wearing a woman's dressing gown ('Because I just went gay all of a sudden!') is considered by many film historians to be the first use of the word 'gay' in its roughly modern sense (as opposed to its archaic meaning of 'happy, carefree') in an American studio film. ... The line was not in the original shooting script for the film; it was an ad lib from Cary Grant himself."

Escaflowne: "The stadium where Hitomi first meets Folken and is drawn into the world of Gaia is modeled on the historic and famous Kasumigaoka National Olympic Stadium (Kokuritsu Kasumigaoka Rikujo Kyogijo) in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo, where the 1964 Summer Olympics were held."

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban: "When Harry gets off of Buckbeak a fellow student is heard saying, 'That was wicked, Harry.' It is the exact recorded sound from the first film where a fellow classmate says the same thing to Harry after he catches Neville's Remembrall whilst on a broom."

The Heiress: "In his autobiography, Basil Rathbone lamented that he did not get the part of Dr. Sloper in the film ... Had he been cast, and had Errol Flynn won the part of Morris Townsend as originally planned, this would have been a re-teaming of all three main stars from the film classics Captain Blood and The Adventures of Robin Hood."

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End: "Captain Barbossa can be seen wearing an Eagle Scout ring in several sequences. This ring signifies that someone in Boy Scouts has earned the highest rank known as Eagle." (lololol!)

Tarzan: "The boat that Clayton and his team use to get from the freighter ship to the jungle when they are going to hunt the gorillas is the same type of boat used in the Jungle Cruise rides in Disney's theme parks."

Troy: "Two biologists were employed to protect the eggs of turtles on the beaches of Mexico where filming took place."
