1) Today I was sitting at my mother's computer when my father bounded in, carrying a blow-up airplane that I guess he got on his last trip to Germany and making appropriate airplane noises. He then went on to explain to me his plans to hang it from the ceiling of his den at such an angle that it would look like it was crashing. And people wonder why I don't read the news articles this man writes? XD El oh el!

2) I found some more tapes that need to be labelled, and so I'm going through them, and on one of them is the Full House episode where Jesse accuses DJ of drinking beer. For a couple years now I have wondered if the idea that Pam was killed by a drunk driver was a later addition. I'm kind of convinced that it is; I think that if this idea had been in place from the beginning of the series, they definitely would have mentioned it in this episode, just like they did in the episode where Kimmy gets drunk and DJ is upset about it. This weird little discrepancy bothers me a lot more than the retcon in which Jesse is all of a sudden a high school drop-out, and I think maybe the reason for that is it means they missed an opportunity to write a scene where Jesse cries! Hahaha, oh me, oh my. [livejournal.com profile] leaf_green yesterday was telling me about all the trauma she's inflicted on one of her favourite characters and how many posts have I written talking about how my favourite episodes of my favourite series involve horrible things happening to my favourite characters? It must be tough to be fictional and loved, hahahaha.

2a) Speaking of scenes where Jesse cries, for years I'd thought I had taped over my only copy of the episode where Papouli dies, but last month I discovered I was wrong. I think that episode should be at the very top of a list I should start entitled "Episodes Sarah Should Never Watch in the Presence of Others." It would just be too embarrassing for everyone involved. XD (Also on that list, the episode where Stephanie discovers one of her classmates has an abusive father. And the episode where Jesse hates Thanksgiving because it means a year since Pam died. And the episode where ...)

3) Also on the tape I was watching tonight was the Fox Kids episode of Escaflowne that is actually episodes seven and eight shoved together. XD; What stands out most to me when I go back and watch Foxaflowne is how it feels like I'm watching it on fastforward. All the little pieces that randomly get cut! And I was really mad because they used "Chain" as the music for the part where Van and Merle go to save Hitomi from the geckos, and that piece totally does not belong in such an early episode! And then they didn't use "Mechanical Soldier" at all, which made the transition from saving Hitomi to fighting Dilandau a totally sloppy one. And then they ruined the lovely ending of the scene where Van tells Hitomi he'll find a way to get her home by adding in the most random flashback to the first episode. WHAT. And it was so long, too! I know they cut the first episode out of the dub, but for realz. If you're still flashbacking to the first episode at this point, you're doing something wrong. And also they randomly stuck in that shot of Allen with wings from episode three. It's a lovely shot, I agreed on that point even back when I thought Allen was the scum of the earth. That doesn't mean it needs to be inserted into such a random spot! Hahahaha. I just think it's interesting how little I remember this version of Escaflowne ... XD;;

4) I have yet to listen to any of the songs off MoMusu's most recent album, because I want to wait until my copy gets here, like I did when Rainbow 7 came out. XD But the album seems to be getting good reviews from the fans, so I am totally excited. I did, however, allow myself to watch the preview of their upcoming single "Kanashimi Twilight," and everything about this preview is the best thing ever. The outfits are definitely reminiscent of the "Roman ~My Dear Boy~" outfits, but if you ask me, that can never be a bad thing. XD The song is awesome, what they show of the dance is awesome, and everyone looks awesome, especially Yossie. <3333 I can't believe her graduation is in less than two months, it seems such a strange thing. I really hope she gets her own group. (I would totally be a hardcore supporter of Yossie/Ayaka/Mai, I so hope it happens.) And if she gets her own group, I really hope they go in a different direction than the one v-u-den is heading in ... Rika, I love you, but no more dancing in bikinis, please. >_<;;

I have also been enjoying GAM's latest single, "LU LU LU." I really like "Thanks!" and I have nothing against "Melodies" (except that the PV gives off the impression it was directed by a fanboy - oh, and that misguided solo performance that Miki did for the Morning Curry tour; I can't even figure out why, but I just feel like that performance was so awkward), but "LU LU LU" is the first time I've really been like, "Yeah! Putting Aya and Miki together was a fantastic idea!!" So yay. XD

I know there are some really negative fans who like to predict the demise of Hello! Project every time a song comes out that they consider less than worthy, but for me they are just as good as they've ever been. XD (Although it would be nice to get a straight answer regarding the future of Aibon ... x_x; )
