どうして本当の愛を探してるの？

My French class this year is really fun and interesting. Last year I found myself being bored by the material we were covering, so this year I signed myself up for French 11 EC ("extended core") and was pretty worried that I would somehow end up failing it, just because it was a jump and the course description puts a lot of emphasis on French being the only language spoken in the classroom. This is not entirely true, there's a lot of English used as well, but there's certainly a lot more French in this class than in any of my previous classes. It's also a lot more fun doing the little dialogue/skit-things. For our last dialogue, we got our situations randomly, and the only rule was that we had to use at least one expression with "quel" (as in "Quel beau ciel!") or "que" (as in "Que le ciel est beau!").

Anyway, the skits were hilarious. It's great to be able to come up with skits like that in a foreign language, and then be able to understand everyone else's, even though our accents may not be as perfect as we'd like. ;) I used to dread doing these dialogues, but not anymore. ^_^ (Heehee, "Salut, Ben" was the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.)

Then . . . there's my Spanish class. There is no such thing as Spanish EC in this school, and of course most of the kids taking Spanish are just doing so because they don't like French, don't want to put in the effort of learning Japanese, but still need a language credit in order to graduate. Half of them don't remember how to conjugate "estar" -- or almost any verb, for that matter --, and most of them love to whine and complain when we are given any sort of work to do. Also, we stick to the units in the textbook so closely that it's boring. Yay, we get to learn some camp vocab, when I've only gone camping once in my entire life (and that was with a bunch of Japanese girls, anyway).

I wish my Spanish class were more like my French class. I hope my Japanese class next semester will be like my French class. Whine whine whine!!

Yeah, French is a good choice. Spanish is useful language. Japanese..., um, interesting(?). So, are you an American? Why do you know so much about Japanese culture and stuff. Have you lived there before or something? By the way I did see that website, but she doesn't look like me. I guess it was just that particular angle. Though I'm still interested in seeing some other pictures of her with that costume on. Thanks again for working so hard for me. :-)
