It is in Japanese. :( Does this put a damper on your eagerness to read it? If you really want I could whip up a rough translation, but it really isn't that fascinating. Basically: Some people think Tokyo Disneyland is an American import, copied directly from the Disney theme parks in the U.S. But Tokyo Disneyland was created by a Japanese company for the Japanese people. Though there are very American areas of the park, such as World Bazaar (their name for Main Street U.S.A.) and Westernland (a.k.a. Frontierland), there are also very Japanese areas, such as the attraction called Meet the World, which describes Japan's political history, and the attraction located underneath Cinderella Castle called the Mystery Tour, which is Tokyo Disneyland's version of a traditional Japanese haunted house (though they also have the Haunted Mansion - in Fantasyland!!??).

And I put in some statistics and a paragraph about Mickey Mouse's popularity in Japan and a paragraph about how Tokyo Disneyland has celebrations for Japanese holidays. And how their Winnie-the-Pooh ride is all technologically advanced and new and amazing while Disneyland's is just like all the other dark rides in the park. Ta-da! Great essay, Sarah! Thanks, Sarah!
