Welp I am back in Japan. Going home for a mere ten days was such a weird experience. I really enjoyed seeing everyone but as I said before I was pretty unhappy for a lot of it. Being back in my house just reminded me of all the things I've left unfinished, eg. books I own but haven't read, the room I haven't finished cleaning, plans I haven't acted on yet, etc. etc. and this plus seeing all my peeps for the first time in five months kind of led into me going all "Aaaahhhhh what am I doing why did I ever want to be away from here" and obsessing about recontracting and I wish I'd been better at pushing those distracting thoughts aside. To say it in a snappier fashion, apparently I only feel homesick when I am actually at home. On a related note, SO MANY PEOPLE asked me if Japan is my home now and if I'm going to live there forever wtfffff. When I was packing to come back here even my mom was like, "Do you feel like you're going home now?" Uh, decidedly not!! Clearly I like Japan a lot and there are things I miss a lot when I'm away from it, but I have no intention of moving here permanently and I definitely don't consider it to be my home. "Oh, why not?" Because I still struggle to communicate and half the time I have no idea what I'm eating and whenever I visit the next prefecture everyone stares at me, that's why not!!!

AAAAUGH SORRY I keep using my LiveJournal to rant about aspects of JET life when really I do not feel all that bad about it at all! Although I was pretty upset to leave Canada, as soon as the plane landed I was totally fine again lol. It actually feels pretty weird to be back, because it DOESN'T feel weird to be back. If that makes any sense. x) Like I didn't have any of the "omg I'm in Japan" that I've had the last two times I've flown here, and I reverted pretty quickly into ~must speak Japanese~ mode. eg. I had a full conversation with the customs officer who decided he was going to check inside my suitcase (siiiiigh I swear I got ~randomly selected~ for EVERYTHING this trip, on both sides of the Pacific; clearly I need to stop dressing like a criminal). I actually feel like most people would be pretty happy with this level of Japanese but ugh I can't stop hating myself for every time I don't understand something someone says. Ugh, moving on.

Monday night I stayed in a hotel near the airport. I decided to do this because my flight came in at such a time that I wasn't sure I would be able to make the last shink up to Iwate, but omg I am so glad I did. I was seriously not up for another three+ hours of travel. Plus this way I got to go to the Hello! Project concert yesterday!!! Tomorrow I am going to do my best to write a huge fangirling post about the two concerts I've seen recently. x) Yesterday was just overall awesomeness~~~ you guys, I seriously am so glad I got my annual pass to Tokyo Disney. I'm not sure whether or not the math will work out for it to actually pay for itself, but I kind of don't care. Yesterday I woke up and was like, "You know what I would like to have for breakfast? A chocolate-covered waffle shaped like Mickey Mouse." And since I already had my entry to the park, there was pretty much no reason for me not to have such a breakfast. Well, probably a less crazy person would point out the hour and a half I then had to spent getting from Disneyland to the concert hall, because they are not exactly close, but I entirely don't care. xD I even went back and had lunch in Tomorrowland! bahahahaha. And then I had exactly enough time left for one ride on Pirates before I had to go catch the bullet train. The park was SUPER busy, as I knew it would be seeing as how most people had the day off, so I was pretty stoked that I was able to drop in for just long enough to stand in one of the shorter lines and then head out again. x) (If I had been smarter, in the morning I would've grabbed a Fastpass for Splash Mountain ... but oh well.) Anyway, in conclusion, yesterday was a very awesome first day back. :)

AWKWARD ENDING TO THIS ENTRY BECAUSE IT'S LATE AND I HAVE TO GO SIT AT THE BOARD TOMORROW SIIIGH
