So during the break between the JLPT reading section and the listening section, another test taker and I were having a simple conversation in Japanese, of which, IMO, this was the highlight:
Her: Doko de nihongo wo benkyou shita no? Daigaku de?
Me: Sí.
Not sure how my brain was still set to Spanish after two intense hours of JLPT, but I think that should give you some idea re: how well I did. x)
Augh I dunno. I wasn't ready for N1, which unfortunately didn't become clear to me until just a few days before the test, when I was trying out the practice questions on the official site and getting them all wrong. I think I studied more for this test than for either of the previous JLPTs I've written, but I just wasn't ready for it. :/ I kind of wish I'd stuck with my original plan of writing N2 and trying to improve my mark, or even writing both N1 and N2 (although by the time N1 was over I was sooooooo ready to leave), but I didn't, so oh well. There were a few questions that I definitely knew the answer to, and I could follow the gist of each of the reading passages, so I guess that's kind of an accomplishment? But at the same time the part in the listening section where you heard one line and then had to choose the appropriate response, oh my god that lost me so hard. And I definitely guessed for each of the kanji questions (although I knew my kanji would be fail because I didn't study that at all D: ).
BUT I dunno. Even if I failed, I did study a lot this year, which I'm glad about. But I'll probably write N2 next year because I would like to go back and properly learn all the Level 2 stuff I never quite got to. And also because I don't feel like failing twice in a row. :P
lol I am actually pretty chill about this. x) Anyway, the highlight of the weekend in Vancouver was not the JLPT but Book Off! Where I found out that when I took my dad to the Book Off in Shibuya, I had neglected to inform him that it is a used store. hahaha! I guess I just figured he knew? xD Anyway, I bought a whole bunch of Disney magazines (from the year Tokyo DisneySea opened! pretty interesting) and dubbed Disney movies and a Tokyo Disneyland ~sing-a-long~ and the first Nihonjin no Shiranai Nihongo book, which I had been hoping to find!
Also: there were so many more people writing N1 than I thought there'd be! Everyone had to go to the info desk to find out what room to go to (not sure why they don't just trust us to read the signs they post on the wall), and of the three morning lines, the N1 line was the only one with more than like three people in it at a time. What!!
