It is the first day of school and already I am wasting time in the computer lab. This does not bode well. I don't even have to be here anymore and yet here I sit. My favourite thing about the computer labs here is that when the person at the computer across from you fiddles around with their plugs or whatever and your screen goes all wavy for a second. My reaction every time is pretty well OH MAN, I FINALLY DID IT, I FINALLY BROKE THE COMPUTERS, NOW TO RUN AWAY BEFORE THEY CATCH ME!!!!!

Today I had Japanese, Spanish Lit., and Canadian History. Japanese was awesome. I felt really glad to be back, like I totally missed the class but didn't quite realize it until this morning. I have the same prof and a lot of the same classmates so it will be awesome. One of my pals from Spanish AP is in my Spanish Lit. class. I think we both felt a little overwhelmed. The prof's accent is kind of hard for me to understand but I think I'll probably get used to it. I have now been bullied into auditing Spanish 350A. PEER PRESSURE STRIKES AGAIN!! Well, it is mostly because of my other friend, to whom I sent my schedule, and I included this class because I wasn't sure whether or not I would take it, and then she passed it on to this guy without mentioning that I wasn't sure I was going to take it, and he totally thought I was taking it and was talking about it and I was all "What?" which is what I'm always like anyway but this time moreso. So I dunno. I'm sort of skipping it now but not really, I'm not in it yet so it doesn't count if I say it doesn't count!! We are reading a play called Don Juan Tenorio which is based on the same story that Mozart's Don Giovanni is, so maybe after this I'll be able to pretend I've seen the opera. WINNER IS ME!

Canadian History, man, there were so many people in that class, and they just kept coming. I think as many as six people ended up standing. But there are some heavy essays so probably people will drop. Today was just an intro class so I'm not really sure what it'll actually be like. The chair wasn't very comfy and the room was hot. :(

Here is a link for my future reference, because goodness knows that once you find something on the UVic web site, you will never be able to find it again: link.

OH MY GOD. I just missed a bus and the next one doesn't leave until 2:36. WOE. The bus ride this morning was really crowded though. I think I am unintentionally trying to take a later bus so it won't be crowded. I don't have a bus guide yet and the web site is annoying and they changed all the times so now they are all so RANDOM. ARGH. I don't want to work tomorrow. :( Catch-22 is in for me at the library. Maybe I'll actually finish it this time, ho ho ho.

There are balloons everywhere directing people to where they can get help signing up for a school e-mail address. I don't know why the fuss. It's really not that difficult ... ? Last year my friend and I were coming down to the computer lab and I was all "I've never been down here before!" and she was all "Then how did you get your e-mail address?" and I was all "PWNED!!!" except I wasn't because nobody said that back then. Man, I'm old.

Okay being in this very white room is making me restless.

So far I've only been to three classes and already I have three things due on October fourth. WHAT!!! I swear they must do this on purpose. Last year I kept having days where everything was due. This is ridiculous. Looking at my schedule already makes me feel overwhelmed. I'm taking five classes and might add a sixth, my November is filled with essays and I'm doing NaNoWriMo too, and I'm still kind of working part time ... I don't know how long that'll last, though. I don't know. I keep seeing posts and comments from people who are going to school full time and working full time. I have no idea how they handle it. I'm all guilt trip-y right now anyway because summer's over and my room is still a mess et cetera et cetera et cetera. I seriously need to learn how to do more than one big thing a day. I would always come home from work and be all "Well, guess that's all I'm doing today!" and then watch TV for a stupid amount of time. MAN.

Anyway, today I gave someone directions. I tried not to let on that you're in pretty bad shape if you're asking me for directions, but anyway. Then I went to the library and found a Jay Ingram book I haven't read. Jay Ingram is my hero. And I got Catch-22 except now I'm all like, "Man~, I don't want to read all that stuff over again~," so who knows.

Also I spent two and a half hours doing my brother's homework, which involved colouring a map of Canada and colouring the drawings he drew to represent Spanish-speaking countries. For Argentina and Panama he couldn't think of anything so he just drew their outlines. I'm like, dude, those are the two easiest ones!!!!! For Argentina you draw Evita, and for Panama you draw a man, a plan, a canal!!!!!! But for Cuba he drew a cigar and for the US he drew a bunch of stickmen wearing sombreros and then one stickman not wearing sombreros, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much of the kid. For Venezuela he did draw a lovely waterfall but then I mucked it up with my bad colouring. And he was annoyed that I coloured the mountain for whatever country blue. I am like, dude, if you didn't want me to colour it blue, you probably should have said something, because in my head all mountains are blue.
