Shakira has a new album coming out! There goes any hope I had to actually save my upcoming paycheque, siiiigh. It's funny because the first time I heard of Shakira was when her "Suerte" video was number one on TLN's countdown, and my reaction was roughly "Oh my goodness put some clothes on for goodness' sake!!" So I am pretty well a fan who likes to ignore the fact that her music videos exist.

When Mom drives me to work she lets me play a CD of my choice. It is kind of funny because now she is hopelessly hooked on BoA's "No. 1." But anyway, yesterday morning we were listening to Belinda's album, and after work I got in the car and an English song was playing and because it was in English I thought it was the radio and I was like, "Hmm, this song sounds familiar, but I can't think of who sings it." And of course it was Belinda's "Be Free" and the album was still playing. Hahahaha, gooooooo me.

My favourite was when Mom drove into the mall parking lot with the windows down blasting "Yes, I'm gonna feel all right, gonna take a chance!" Hahahahaha, oh man, most awesome.

I like this song. <3 The lyrics are awesome! "No sólo de pan vive el hombre /
Y no de excusas vivo yo." <33 Apparently there is going to be an English version of this album named "Vol. 2" to match the Spanish version's "Vol. 1," which I think is interesting, but at the same time Shakira's English lyrics give me so much pain just because the Spanish ones sound so much better! I don't mind the English version of "Te Aviso, Te Anuncio" (I forget the English name, haha go me), but that's perhaps because I heard that version first (yay Pepsi commercials~ -_-; ). The English version of "Ojos Así" I can't stand! The Spanish version has such cool pronouns in such wacky places and the English one is boring!

Spanish: y no encontré ojos así como los que tienes tú
English: knocking down windows and doors and I could not find eyes like yours

Just ... yuck. ~_~; Well anyway, I don't have to listen if I don't want to. XD; I guess it is then awful of me to wonder if Utada Hikaru would ever consider putting out an English version of one of her Japanese songs -- other than "Simple and Clean," I mean, because that song bores me. XD;; Hahaha, I am so very picky woohoo! I was listening to Hikki's English album a lot last week, though. I like more of it now than I used to, but it's still pretty weird! ;)
