Jan. 15th, 2003 05:43 pmYesterday *blinkblink* drew a picture of Arada and it looks like Emma Watson. Teehee! And today my French Chatelaine arrived, yay.
Today in Spanish we had a little test and when Tvhtoo and I were discussing our answers, "Burrito" (his choice of a Spanish nickname) started talking to us from across the classroom. Burrito rarely comes to class and never pays attention. The most I have ever seen him do in Spanish was write "voy al bano el Burrito" on the board in an attempt to tell the teacher he was going to leave the class in the general direction of the bathrooms whether she liked it or not. Today after the test he looked over to Tvhtoo and me and, as I said before, started talking.
Says he, "I bet you're aiming to get a hundred percent, huh?"
We were in the middle of a conversation about how I had been such an idiot to forget the word "divertirse" when it's such a friend of the French "s'amuser" and we didn't quite have the opportunity to answer him. :Þ
Says he, "You think you're so smart."
????
Says he, "Do you guys actually want to learn Spanish?"
This was the best part of this not-quite-a-conversation. He asks "Do you guys actually want to learn Spanish?," and we both nod. Then he gives us this look of complete and utter disdain. I honestly wanted to start laughing, but managed to control myself. Yes, please hate us because we want to learn Spanish! IN A SPANISH CLASS!! We are such offenders! Such rebels!
There's such a difference between my French and Spanish classes. Such a huge difference. Almost everyone in my French class is actually interested in the language and enjoys learning it, while in Spanish it's the exact opposite. It drives me crazy but what can I do? Figure out some way to take AP Spanish next year, I suppose . . .
