Escaflowne news! So yesterday I watched episode three (again) and episode four, and today I watched episode four (again) and I was going to watch episode five but I think I will save it for tomorrow. Anyway, I had totally forgotten how much awesomeness there is to be found within episode four! I think I watched the "Shadow of Doubt" part like six times, haha, but it's so good! "Shadow of Doubt" is still one of the coolest pieces of music I've ever heard. Like, it starts off so plain - four bars of cello, one note at a time, repeated over and over. But it is the coolest four bars ever. Sort of dry but sort of creepy and so awesome. I think this episode is the first time it's played but I'm not sure. It kicks in when Allen is talking about Dilandau, and there is this shot of Dilandau that is cool, and then Allen sends Gaddeth and Riden away and has a very dramatic line so you're all like, DREAD!, and then Natal flies away (hahaha Athena I remembered the owl's name! I think) which sort of guides your attention to farther away from the fort, and then there's your typical shot of a guymelef shimmering under its stealth cloak, and then you see that there's three, and then Dilandau tells them to hold their position and I don't know, I just think think that whole thing is the coolest thing ever and I watched it like ten times just today, man, awesome. But Dilandau makes any scene five times better and we knew that already, right?

And then the "Dance of Curse" part! Both Athena and I have been tricked into thinking this is the first time "Dance of Curse" is played, and it's not (the first time is in the second episode when Escaflowne first fights), but it might as well be because in my opinion it's a much more effective usage. I get a kick out of how Van knows what winds to catch when this is the first time he's flown the thing, but never mind that, haha. I thought I had more to say about this part but apparently I don't. I remember watching it like six million times before, though. Shut up, you know it is awesome.

Also watched two episodes of GALS! today. Even without subtitles I understood a good amount! This makes me happy. :) I mean, GALS! is so overdone that it's hard not to understand the basic idea, but you know what I mean. I completely forgot about that one guy's awful English! I find it to be a bizarre mixture of mildly amusing and at the same time the most annoying thing I've ever heard. I like the random ワット!s, though, they totally caught me off guard every time. XD XD;;;

And so you don't think I spend all my time watching TV, which I do: today I spent an hour cleaning my room. Not a huge amount of progress, but it's more than I've done in a while, so I say good job!

Also, I rode the bus with someone from my high school who I only used to see sporadically but whom I now see all the time. And it is really awesome to talk to her! My bus ride doesn't feel like twenty minutes when I have someone with whom I can pretend I am all knowledgeable about everything! XD XD XD;;;;;

Also, I think today I produced the least mangled Spanish I have produced since the beginning of the semester, which is nice. Today marks a whole month without any skipped classes or missed shifts! I guess it is kind of pathetic that that feels like an accomplishment now. But compared to last semester ... ~_~;
