arishaJust saw GoF.
SO GOOD--!!
It was definitely not as artsy as PoA. There was this one shot-- okay, so one of my favourite little moments in PoA is after Trelawney's last appearance, when Harry leaves her classroom and goes down the spiral stairs and there is this creepy little line of flute music, and you see him going down the stairs from above. And I just really think that shot is awesome, a little creepy quiet moment before the real danger begins. And there was this shot early in GoF that was a shot of the staircase from above, and I was like OH MAN but it was not half as cool as in PoA. It's like, in PoA the shot is all "LOOK AT HARRY HE IS SO ALONE AND HIS LIFE IS FULL OF DANGER AND THIS WACKY STAIRCASE SYMBOLIZES THAT, LISTEN TO THE PRETTY FLUTE~~" And in GoF this shot is all "OH MAN THIS STAIRCASE IS HILARIOUS LOOK AT ALL THE STAIRS OH MAN I GOTTA GET ME SOME STAIRS LIKE THIS." Oh yes, it's true.
And now I am just going to copy and paste from the e-mail I sent my friend:
It was so good. SO GOOD. I'm sad that they took out two of my favourite parts - when Harry learns to throw off the Cruciatus (I almost cried the first time I read it, ahahaha how embarrassing) and when Dobby's all "Your Weezy! Your Weezy!" because otherwise how does Harry know who he's supposed to save? Also the quartet in the lake was obviously fake, but oh well, it's okay, it was still good.
What a growth spurt Neville had! I really liked the part where he got all upset about the spider though. Was that in the book? I wouldn't have noticed it so much if it was, because I last read GoF before I read OotP. Man, changing the chair into a chamber in the trial scene?? That was strange. Like they were being all LOOK WE'RE PG-13 NOW WE CAN HAVE A TORTURE DEVICE WAHAHAHA.
Hermione is awesome, as always.
The part at the beginning where Barty Crouch, Jr. was in the house with Voldemort and Wormtail? I was like WTF WHO IS THAT GUY and it confused me for sooooooo long.
Also, they called Wormtail "Wormtail" but did they ever actually establish that that was his new name? All I recall from PoA is "Peter."

(I asked my mother, who hasn't read the book, if she noticed the "Wormtail" thing and she said, "I just thought it was his name. It seemed to make perfect sense." TRY HARDER, MOM!!!!)
Dad: That was the best movie I've seen since the last Harry Potter movie.

Okay I only have half an hour before I have to get ready for work so I will go try not to think about HP4 for a while now. Phew.
