(that's my favourite joke ever ever ever ever ever omg ever)
(except maybe the "let's get on the ship, men!" joke, which will be forever fabulous)
(hahahahaha, I am laughing just thinking about it! oh man, hahaha, "let's get on the ship, men!" I can't even take it!)
(someday I will write a joke book and I will buy six trillion copies)
Here is my schedule as it looks right now, although who knows what it will look like when I actually register tomorrow. Mostly I am writing this out for my own purposes, but you can look at it too. :)
First Semester
Definitely:
Japanese 249 (Intermediate Japanese Part One)
History 131 (Canadian History to 1867)
Spanish 375 (Survey of Spanish Literature Since 1700 -- I have never actually finished a novel in Spanish, so this should be, uhm, interesting?)
Definitely, if I get in:
Spanish 350A (Advanced Composition, Translation, and Stylistics Part One -- I have to ask if I can audit it; so far it looks like I'll be able to, the class isn't filling up that fast and the prof is supposedly crazy nice, I hope I hope I can get in!)
Maybe:
Japanese 201A (Aspects of Japanese Culture Part One -- I can use the credit towards a minor in Japanese but at the same time I don't actually have any idea what this class is about, I'm mostly nervous about having too few classes if I don't get into Spanish :( )
French 288 (Intro to French Canadian Literature -- mostly so I don't forget how to write in French while I wait for a class I can actually use to decide to fit into my schedule; I don't think I can use this credit for anything, but they're changing the department all around so it's all very confusing)
That's only three classes I for sure for sure am going to take. ;_; And two I will probably throw in there anyone, and one I would very much like to audit. So ... nine credits, with or without the audit class. Hahaha, again I will be able to tell people I am taking six classes! That's most excellent. XD; I hope I don't have to drop any because of the workload or anything. Even if they're in the "maybe" category I might end up really liking them. ;_;
There's a French class (numbered 286) I could use for credit and stuff for sure, but then I would have no lunchtime, and then what would I do during NaNoWriMo?!?!?!
Second Semester
Definitely:
Japanese 311 (Intermediate Japanese Part Two: This Time It's Personal)
French 295 (Writing Part Two: This Time It's Personal -- I never actually had to take Writing Part One, although neither of the French language classes I did take no longer exist)
Spanish 370 (Survey of Spanish Literature from Origins to 1700)
Definitely, if I get in:
Spanish 350B (Advanced Composition, Translation, and Stylistics Part Two: This Time It's Personal -- same deal as with 350B, except I don't remember if I read up on the prof or not)
Maybe:
Spanish 380 (Survey of Spanish American Literature from 1492 to 1900 -- right after French, which is why it is listed as "maybe," because I'll have to wait and see whether or not my brain implodes I guess!)
That's three definities, one maybe, and one audit. Seven-point-five credits with or without the audit class, so I can tell people I have five classes. I like to lie to people, have you noticed? Well, it will be the truth, if you count the audit ... hehe, sneaky.
Both semesters I have Thursday morning to sleep in. I actually would rather get up early. I feel kind of ridiculous sleeping in and having to go to school, and plus I never eat lunch if I sleep in so then my stomach growls. HOT STUFF. Maybe I will finally be able to get myself to do stuff in the morning? That would be nice.
In other news, Entertainment Weekly said Fijación Oral is Shakira's best work to date, which makes me wonder if they've actually heard any of her other Spanish albums, because don't get me wrong, I love "La Tortura" and that song about inglés is pretty cool too, but the rest of it is going to take me quite a while to get used to I think. Especially the part where she sings in French for the sole purpose of messing with my head, geeze Shakira.
The neighbour that hates me I think is outside with her loud friend. Fantasmic.
Last night I had a dream that one of my aunts had moved to Victoria and had a new kid and I was baby-sitting this kid who was so so adorable. I seriously wish I had a so so adorable kid I could baby-sit. You have no idea. I sure hope this isn't a sign of maternal instinct, because if it is, Athena will hunt me down and kill me.
Tall ship pictures coming soonish. :)
