first post of nano09

So during the first half of October I was totally obsessed with my NaNo novel, to the point where I was terrified I was going to get sick of it and so forced myself to stop thinking about it for a while. Now it's November and I have no idea how to get back to being obsessed with this thing! How do I get back into the headspace where I can write this thing like I want it to be written?

In conclusion: as usual, as soon as I am allowed to start working on something, it all falls apart. :D But oh well, at least I have some words now! Although how many, I'm not sure yet, as I cannot write any way but with a pen and paper!

omigosh this makes me really happy, because usually when I say that, the only replies I get are tips on how to write on the computer. Totally useless to me because it just never works. And anyway there is nothing wrong with writing in a good old fashioned notebook, amirite? xD

How do you figure up your word count when you write by hand?

In the past, I've counted the words on one page and then just guesstimated how much I'd written total. Usually I've guessed way too low - when I typed up my NaNo 2004, I discovered I'd written like 5k more than I needed to because of this. :P This year I hope to be more diligent about typing scenes up as I go, so I'll just word count it then.

Me neither! Although, this is only true for essays, since that's all I write. But yeah, I just have a much easier time when I'm writing to paper. Even if everyone else laughs at me. ^^

Some of my very best essays were written longhand! It's sooooo much less distracting!!

Man the way I wrote that comment makes me look crazy. Or drunk?

... You are drunk, aren't you? DON'T TRY TO DENY IT.

Let's just be honest here: I am always drunk.
