random post is random

~ So who else is doing National Novel Writing Month this November?? 50,000 words in thirty days and it really is a blast! Here's my author page so add me! xD I am looking forward to a good attempt this time, after my total failure of last year. D:

~ As of today, I have a ticket to This is It (Oct. 28, 7pm) and a ticket to New Moon (Nov. 19, 10pm). So now I continue the wait for the two autumn movies I am most excited for, haha! Also, a shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] misfits_united because I totally forgot she was on my friendslist until she asked if we were getting tickets for the Michael Jackson movie, hahaha. xD

~ For its thousandth post, [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets asked for only positive secrets, and I convince this turned out a lot more awesome than I thought it would. And there were two Morning Musume secrets in the mix! One and two. <3 Now if only the "Kimagure Princess" PV would leak already, because I am way too impatient for it! xD

~ I have had a blast with my phandom phriends over these past five unasked-for days off, but tomorrow I go back to work! And I need to restart my job search. Even if I stayed at the movie theatre part-time, it would be nice to do something new as well. I also need to start researching grad schools more thoroughly, which is hard to get started on since the idea of me going to grad school still seems so foreign. Plus I'm not sure yet if I want to apply this year or wait until next year ... woohoo for uncertainty. :/

~ Let's end on something fun! Here's Rick Mercer in zero gravity! Feel free to skip ahead to 2:40, although my favourite bit is at 5:38, if just for the look on his face!! xD

As soon as I saw the Momusu part I rushed over to see what people were saying about them, and then I got even more excited because the post with the first one has NCIS secrets too. <3

haha aww, if I had known people would want to read the comments on those secrets I would've linked to them! Hope you didn't have too much trouble finding them. x)

And yeah, there seems to be a lot of NCIS secrets recently.

I'm sneaky so I just ctrl+f'd through the page sources to find those image URLs, it wasn't hard. :3 I like reading both [livejournal.com profile] fandomsecrets and [livejournal.com profile] ljsecret anyway!

I'm guessing that has something to do with the fact that it is on ALL THE TIME. I just discovered it this summer because it's on at least three hours every weeknight, usually more. XD Season seven just started too.

hahaha, I totally understand. All through undergrad, whenever I was asked if I was planning on going to grad school, my kneejerk answer was "OMG NO!!" But now that I've been coming up with a clearer idea of what I want for a career, I think grad school is going to be pretty much a necessity. I'm excited about it, though! There are certain aspects of being a student that I really, really miss.

Oh - and thank you for the luck. :D

Well, you wouldn't be applying until the new year since as you know most applications are due between January and March. And obviously if you wait it'll be a year and a half until you can even apply, 2 before you go back...

Dad kept telling me "the longer you spend out of school, the harder it is to go back," and I was all pshaw whatever, I can clearly go back whenever I want, but having been away for just one year I'm having a hard time getting back in the groove and doing work. I just keep thinking, eeh, it's not due for another couple of weeks, I'll put it off, and that's going to end up being a huge disastrous pile-up but I just can't help it.

So in conclusion, I would advise applying this year? Especially if you don't find a job that would lead more towards the eventual career you'd like to have...

Two years, I knoooow. D: I think the main reason I feel like I want or should delay applying is because at this point I'm not even sure I would get accepted anywhere but the easiest of schools to get accepted into. I mean, what's on my resume? High marks in a not-really-related B.A. and that's pretty much it. So I feel I should take some time to volunteer/study/??? and otherwise remedy this situation. But definitely that huge length of time is making me think that would not be the smartest decision. It's like, one more year out of school doesn't feel like long enough, but two years feels like ETERNITY. I know some schools have programs where you can start in January if you want, but I don't know how strongly I should consider that as an option. I don't want to be behind everyone! D:

lol, my aunt told me the same thing once re: spending time out of school. And I amused that you seem to believe I got through undergrad in a way other than procrastinating, procrastinating, procrastinating, and then writing each essay the hour before it was due. :D

*And I am amused

hahaha I just keep replying to this!

lolariously enough, I think UNBC would be okay-easy for me to get into, seeing as how their Japanese department and their International Studies department are one and the same ... >xD
