NaNo2010: Day One (so far)
So I was too busy watching Top Gear to start writing exactly at midnight, but I did start writing soon after, and have just finished for the night with roughly 1,600 words. (It took a little longer than usual because I had a couple breaks for leftover Halloween candy, of which we have quite a bit because we live on a hill no one wants to climb and so as usual had a grand total of ONE trick-or-treater: a pre-teen boy with his hoodie on backwards. haha and I thought my costume was last-minute!) I started off kind of rough when I realized that the scene I'd been planning to write doesn't actually make any sense. But once I picked a different scene things started going better and I'm feeling pretty satisfied with it right now, haha. I realize that I've stopped writing 67 words before the recommended daily word count, but as the day is far from over I figure it should be okay.
In other news, today
athena_crikey and I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas and while that movie is still awesome, for the first time I am completely befuddled by the ~love story~ that's in it. Sally spends the entire movie pining for Jack who all but completely ignores her until he realizes she was trying to help him, and then all of a sudden he's in love with her? What?? And lol at the last line of "Sally's Song": "for I am not the one." As if Jack is in some sort of love triangle or even has any other romantic interests at all! I like the song out of context but within the movie that line kind of comes out of nowhere. :/
In conclusion, please allow me to mention Evanescence twice in as many entries so that I can link to Amy Lee's awesome cover of "Sally's Song"! Apparently there is a cover CD of Nightmare Before Christmas songs? I listen to that soundtrack so often that I am pretty much obligated to look into this! haha. x)
