achilles starved for war

The only evidence that my copy of The Iliad (Fagles translation FTW!) is a used copy is that these two lines have been highlighted in thick pink:

There is nothing alive more agonized than man
of all that breathe and crawl across the earth.

I feel like either this is really deep, or the book's previous owner just wanted to mark one of the appearances of Achilles' talking horse. (And really, who could blame them? xD; )
